When sprayed over fresh concrete, SpecFilm forms a thin, continuous film which prevents rapid moisture loss from the concrete surface. SpecFilm is especially effective when concreting operations must be performed in direct sun, wind, high temperatures, or low relative humidity. Shrinkage Cracks Freshly poured concrete that is “wet” or “plastic” is fully expanded upon placement because the excess water in the mix design has not begun to evaporate. After the concrete is poured the water rises to the top and evaporates. This moisture evaporation results in the concrete contracting in size. If the evaporation of the water is inconsistent throughout the concrete, shrinkage cracks will occur. For example, if you’re pouring concrete on a windy day, the surface will dry faster than the bottom, causing surface cracks. SpecFilm can be used as an evaporation retardant and slow the concrete moisture loss.

SpecFilmBeat the heat and protect your concreteDesigned to be used as an evaporation retardant and finishing aid on concrete flatwork of all types. When sprayed over

fresh concrete, SpecFilm forms a thin, continuous film which prevents rapid moisture loss from the concrete surface.

SpecFilm is especially effective when concreting operations must be performed in direct sun, wind, high temperatures, or

low relative humidity.

Shrinkage Cracks

Freshly poured concrete that is “wet” or “plastic” is fully expanded upon placement

because the excess water in the mix design has not begun to evaporate. After

the concrete is poured the water rises to the top and evaporates. This moisture

evaporation results in the concrete contracting in size. If the evaporation of the water

is inconsistent throughout the concrete, shrinkage cracks will occur. For example, if

you’re pouring concrete on a windy day, the surface will dry faster than the bottom,

causing surface cracks. SpecFilm can be used as an evaporation retardant and slow

the concrete moisture loss.
