Innovative E-TORL LampE-TORL: Epson-Twin Optimize Reflection Lamp
Epson developed small, high performance “E-TORL” lamps efficientlygather and project light to effectively eliminate light-leakage andminimise light diffraction.
This system combines an ellipsoidal reflector with an aspherical lensand a hemispherical mirror to produce a lamp so small and highlyefficient that it is ahead of its time.
EMP-Monitor
Low Power Consumption
It uses a low 231W during operation and just 5.8W when on standby*mode. With an environmentally-conscious and energy-conservingdesign, it will shut the power off automatically if the slide has beenclosed for 30 minutes.
Easy Lamp ChangeThe lamp can be replaced easily by simply accessing it from thehatch on the top of the projector. The hatch on the top of the projectoris removed by merely loosening 1 screw. Ceiling-mounted projectorslamps can be changed without having to remove it from the ceiling.
Security FunctionTough Security Bar, Password Protect and Kensington Lock
EMP-822/83 have a built-in, tough security bar as a reliablecountermeasure against theft. Password protection and a KensingtonLock are also built-in to give peace of mind when used in high trafficvenues.
Network Functionality
Oversee and control the state of a projector from a remote LANconnected PC. The PC acts as remote controller, allowing you toturn the power on and off, change between sources, control andmonitor the lamp and temperature conditions, and identify anypotential problems that may arise.
* These values are for 200-240 volt region. Consumption is 248W and 4.1W in 100-140 volt region

Bold, bright, beautiful Epson 3LCDprojectors
When powerful images are a must, so too is a 3LCDprojector. Systems that use 3LCD technology areeasy on the eyes because they reproduce astoundinglybeautiful images in bright, natural colour without dithernoise or colour break-up. 3LCD - The world leader inprojection technology.
Broadening the reach of 3LCD projectors3LCD projectors continue to be the most widely used projectors inthe world. Many different projector manufacturers adopt 3LCD dueto its overwhelmingly solid reputation. The fact that more than 11.3million front projectors units have been sold worldwide over the past17 years is a testament to customers’ trust in the technology andunderstanding of the stunningly beautiful images LCDs project.
What is a 3LCD projector
3LCD projectors pass light through LCDpanels about the size of a postagestamp and then use the projector’s lensto expand the minute details within theimages. Thus, the projector is able toreproduce a wide gamut of colours toproject clear, detailed and beautifulimages with ultra-smooth movementonto the viewing surface. This is thedefining characteristic of 3LCD systems.
A projector which uses the 3-panel LCD system breaks light wavesthat are produced by the lamp into the three primary colours, red, green and blue. Each of the three colours of light is then passedthrough its own LCD panel to provide images in full colour with silkysmooth movement. The three colours of light are then recombinedthrough a prism to give the images the rich, full colour which isprojected onto the viewing surface without the possibility any colourbreak-up.
The technology behind other projectors
Characteristics of 3LCD Projectorsfrom Epson
3LCD Projectors reproduce an impressive luminance of colours andbright images.
The most important thing is to reproduce the bright coloursof projected images.
The lumens detailed in the catalog refer to the brightness of aprojected image’s “full-white” area. Colour luminance, however, isalso very important in a projector. 3LCD projectors offer superiorcolour luminance, producing vivid and sharp colour images. Thesecapabilities enable them to provide more effective support than everbefore in business presentations, increasingly making use of coloursin images such as photographs and charts broken down by colour.
Natural images -Colour reproduction and gradation
3LCD projectors deliver natural images andfaithfully reproduce primary colours acrossa wide spectrum. Another important elementof proper image projection is smooth colourgradation along with smooth colour change. They project a broad array of presentationmaterials, such as photographic images, with a truly natural look and feel, so thatthey can be used effectively in all mannerof business applications.
Smooth video playback
3LCD projectors use three separate liquidcrystal panels -one red, one green and oneblue - for the continuous combination ofcolours. Thus in fast-moving images, 3LCDprojectors produce a smooth total image, preventing outlines from breaking up intomultiple lines. This smooth video playbackcontributes to making effectivepresentations.
Easy on the eyes
Colour break-up, which occurs in fieldsequential colour projection technology, arises from the relationship between themotion of an image on a screen and themotion of the viewer’s eyes. This causesthe image to suffer from a “rainbow-like”effect. 3 LCD projectors, however, do notsuffer from the effect but instead produceimages that are easy on the eyes.
Advancement of 3LCD projectorsThe world of imaging technology is constantly evolving and 3LCDprojectors are evolving right alongside to bring you more detailedand beautiful images. 3LCD projectors bring wonder and excitementto the world of imaging.
Highly reliableThe high reliability of 3LCD projectors is a matter of great pride forEpson. A major factor in the dependability of our products is thatthey contain no moving mechanical parts in the light control system. We believe that being the number one projector brand worldwide in2005 (source: Decision Tree Consulting) is a tribute to customers’trust in the reliability of our 3LCD projector systems.

Open slide. Resume presentation.
A/V Mute Slide - For Smoother Presentation
Simply slide the A/V mute cover across and pause projectiontemporarily. The audience can then focus on you, or other elementsof your presentation. Fan noise is minimised when the slide is closed, while the projector light is suspended temporarily – allowing you totake advantage of the white board without distractions.
Instant Off Quick Shutdown
Simply press the Power-Off button, unplug the power cableimmediately after 'beep' sound. No cool-down is required. It’s easy, fast and convenient.
Direct Power On/Off
Start your presentation in style with style. Impress the audience byconnecting the projector into the room’s main power source so thatwhen you switch on the lights, the projector is also activated.
Powerful 7W Speaker
The built-in 7W speaker ispowerful enough to deliver richand clear sound to a class of30 people with no externalspeakers or amplifier needed.

The second most common type of business projectors, other thanthe 3LCD projector system, is the 1-chip DLP® projector system. These 1-chip DLP® projectors reflect light by using a DLP® chip wherelamplight is typically switched alternately through red, green, blueand white parts of a rotating wheel.
