2.6. System Overview

This machine is to inspect defect of tablets and capsules. It can detect foreign matter, dirty, torn, engraving

failure, print failure, size failure and other defects of the appearance of tablets/capsules. It also can inspect

many shape of tablet (round, oblong, oval, heart, quadrangle, pentagon, hexagon, water drop shape and

etc).

2.6.1. Tablet inspection flow

Tablets are fed to bowl feeder through hopper, vertical zigzag vibration and horizontal vibration feeder.

Sort tablet/capsules in a single row by centrifugal force of bowl feeder.

1st suction disk picks tablet capsules which sorted single row and controlled by guides already, and rotates

to pass them inspection section to inspect top view and side vies of top part by 5 cameras (2 cameras for

tops of tablet, 3 cameras for 3 sides of object).

Tablets are transferred to 2nd suction disk which naturally makes objects upside down (disk hold top side of

object) to inspect the other side of object (bottom of tablet). Inspection is performed by 5 cameras again ( 2

cameras for bottom view of tablet, 3 cameras for 3 side views of tablet).

Inspection finished and classified tablet to each different boxes (good, bed, uninspected)

2.6.2. Capsule inspection flow

Capsules are managed in same way with above tablet handling method for : feeding, sorting, picking by

suction disks to start inspection performance.

1st suction disk inspection section inspects cap and body of capsule from each corners by 5 cameras.

2nd suction disk inspection section inspects the other side of capsule by 5 camera again. The view areas of

inspections are overwrapped to be complete vision inspection without missing area.

In the end, one camera with back lighting inspects empty capsules.
