Specialist in breeding, production andsale of seed and ware potatoes
www.plantera.nl
The name Plantera is derived from the word 'planter': working close to the soil and the product. The lines of communication with our growers and customers are short and direct, decisions are made close to the source.
Plantera is a company specialised in the breeding, production and sale of (seed) potatoes. From their passion for seed potatoes, Plantera was founded by Gerard Bovée and Jeroen van Soesbergen in 2014. They have a lot of experience, both in breeding, production, logistics and sales. Currently, Gerard and Jeroen are being supported by a team of four, working from the office in Marknesse and the breeding station in Wieringerwerf.
Plantera has an area of approximately 360 ha. under cultivation in Northwest Europe, of which 85% is grown in the Netherlands by experienced growers. A major part is organically grown and marketed.
The market for potatoes is divided into the following segments: fresh, fries, crisps, peeled and specialties. Plantera has its own varieties for all these segments to make sure we can provide our customers with a complete range and to ensure the continuity of the company. Besides these specially bred varieties, we can also supply seed potatoes of released 'free' varieties. You can find a list of these on our website.
Breeding reliable new varieties Supplying high quality seed potatoes Providing clear agronomic advice And supporting our customers with the sales of our varieties
elements in what we do:
Together, these four elements make up a complete chain: with good variety characteristics and careful cultivation by experienced growers, high quality seed potatoes are grown. The result will be good yields in growing the ware potatoes, which ensures good marketing & sales opportunities for both the seed and ware potatoes. This is why Plantera cooperates with its growers, to optimize the production process.Through close personal contact and decisiveness, Plantera integrates the entire chain.
Based on our vision of quality, we see four key
