How to Use Teleseminars to Build Your List and Get More Clients

    There are 3 basic steps to creating a successful teleseminar:

Step #1: Choose a Hot Topic for Your Teleseminar Pick a hot topic – have you ever noticed that the covers of magazines have great catchy article titles? Well that’s the same thing you’re going for when you choose a topic. Choose your main subject in health, wealth, time management, fitness, business, or relationships and then narrow it down to a bite sized specific topic that you talk about.

Tell them what doesn’t work – when you put together your presentation you’ll want to include what isn’t working to solve their problem. These are typically the myths or problems that they’ve been encountering. Why is it important? Because it will connect them to you and let them know you understand them. This way when you tell them what works they’ll realize there’s a better way.

Tell them what works – teleseminars are a great space to showcase what you know, who you help and what you do. The best way to do that is to design a presentation that outlines what is that you know that helps solve the problem. Let’s say you know the best way to eat oranges while jumping out of a plane and your perfect client has been doing it all wrong.

Outline the specific solutions to the problems they have and this will position you as an expert while giving great value at the same time. When you deliver this type of teleseminar and make them an offer that provides the solution to their problem your ideal client will want to know how they can work with you to solve their problem.

Remember, the key is to know what your ideal client wants. If you don’t know, start asking!

     Step #2: Create a Registration or Opt-In Page The next step is to create a registration or opt-in page. When you have a visually appealing page that speaks directly to your ideal client it makes them want to register for your event. I’ve seen all kinds of opt-in pages from uber fancy to boring and run of the mill. The resource I now use and recommend to all of my private and mastermind clients is called Leadpages. There are 3 Keys to Creating a Magnetic Opt-In Page

Key #1: Always use a relevant photo. If you’re the speaker then use your image (and make it a current one)

Key #2: Include your ideal client (their title) and their problem in the header and or title of the Opt-In. Example: Divorced Moms Struggling to Find the Perfect Mate

Key #3: Tease the teleseminar content in the bullets to intrigue your ideal client and make them want to register to learn more about how they can solve their problems.

Create at least 3-5 teaser bullet points.

Example: On this teleseminar you’ll learn:

The #1 reason Divorced Moms Can’t Find Their Perfect Mate and What To Do Instead

Key #4: Brand it to your business. This is an important and often overlooked step but to get your ideal clients used to seeing you, you want to make sure you become recognizable. LeadPages allows you to change the font colors of your Opt-In page so you can match your brand.

Action: Secure an Opt-In service now so that you can schedule your Teleseminar.

Hint: Give yourself at least 3-4 weeks to put together your first teleseminar. There are a lot of moving parts and you want to do it right.

Step #3: Connect Your Opt-In Page to Your Mailing List

In order to host a teleseminar and build your list, you need to connect your Opt-In page to your mailing list.

The first step is to create your list in your mailing list. This will allow you to capture all sign ups from your Opt-In page.

Once you’ve created the list you will want to place that code in your Opt-In page settings. Since I use LeadPages I would insert the code in my page as seen here in the photo.

If you don’t know how to do this step you will want to speak to a Virtual Assistant who can handle this for you.

It’s not tremendously difficult to set up an Opt-In page and once you know how to do it you can copy the page you like and modify it over and over again for future teleseminars.

Maximize all of the controls within the template to optimize your Opt-In page for best results in your marketing.

Step #4: Choose a teleseminar service

The next step is to select a teleseminar service to use for your call.

There are plenty of them that range from anywhere between $0-$500.

There are two that I highly recommend.

This service is simple to use and allows you to download the recording after your call so that you can send it out to registrants.

It’s one of the services I still use regularly today.

This service is much more robust. It also includes the ability to use webcasting and webinars. It also allows you to pre-record a teleseminar and schedule it for listening to at another time. This feature is great for encores.
