It starts with just three circles. All this business really comes down to are these three things:

Here’s how to find red hot products to sell using the world’s largest online retailer as your crystal ball. What you’re about to learn doesn’t just apply to Amazon, and doesn’t even just apply to physical products. This is like being able to walk into an office building downtown and see a dollar sign and a number written on every business’s office door telling you who’s making the most money. It would be pretty easy to figure out what business to start if you had that information, wouldn’t it?

So the easiest way to see all the Best Seller list on Amazon is to just do a quick Google search for Amazon Best Seller list. You’ll see this one: http://amazon.com/best-sellers/zgbs. It’s a little harder to find through Amazon, so you just click on that link, and you can see a list of all the best-selling products for every single category.

You can just scroll down and browse through the options. Let’s say you are interested in sports and outdoors, so you click there and you can see the top 100 best-selling products for that entire category listed in order of which products are selling the best. Amazon is literally telling you which products make the most amount of money.

Proven Product Criteria

So now that you know how to find the Best Seller list on Amazon, and once you

see a list of top 100 best-selling products for any category, here’s how to pick a

winning product: the proven product criteria.

1. First, the (BSR), needs to be less than 500 in the top category. Each one of these will be explained in just a second for you.

2. Second, you want the selling price to be between $7 and $40. 3. Third, you want the reviews to be less than a thousand.

So a Best Seller Rank is less than 500, selling price is $7 to $40, and reviews is less than a thousand. When you’re looking at products on Amazon, this is how you’re filtering it down to the best products you can sell.

You could potentially sell every product on the planet (since Amazon sells over a million different products). However, the goal is to be able to quickly filter down to the best products to sell in order to make money fast.

First off, you’re going to filter by your Best Seller Rank. According to that criteria, you want that to be less than 500. The next criteria is that you want the price to be between $7 and $40. Then the final criteria is that you want the number of reviews to be less than a thousand.

Once you’ve filtered all those down, this bottom rung is where you’re going to be spending all of your time picking the best profit making product.

Going back to the first criterion, the Best Seller Rank, remember that you want this to be less than 500 in the top level category. So for example, in the image below you can see a basic workout ball. If you look at this, when we pulled it, it was number 16 in sports and outdoors. That’s extremely good. That’s a great product to sell based on the first criteria.

In the next image, you can see a workout suit. When this image was taken, it was ranked 1,001 in the same category, sports and outdoors. That’s not a product you would pick that would fit this first criterion of less than 500 in the top level category.

Criterion #2 – Selling Price

The second criterion is selling price. You want it to be between $7 and $40. If it’s too far below $7, then shipping costs and whatnot will eat up a lot of your margin. However, if it’s too far above $40, then it can be too expensive to order inventory.

Just by pulling the best-selling products in kitchen and dining at the time, as you can see in the image below, these are all between $7 and $40. We’ve got $37.49 and $33.95, except for that one product, the 12 piece cooking set. If you can see, it’s $75.90. That one would not meet the criteria. Again, you want to make sure it meets all three of the criteria, and you’d filter anything out that’s not between $7 and $40.

Criterion #3 – Number of Reviews

The third criterion is the number of reviews. You want this to be less than a thousand. The reason why is that if it’s too far over 1,000, it can be a little hard to compete with products that have that many reviews.

So if you look at the products in the image below, we’ve circled the two that have more than a thousand reviews. If you’re looking at the pet supplies category, you would just sort of skip over those opportunities and focus on the lower competition ones that have less reviews.

Now that you’ve filtered down from all the products on Amazon to the ones that meet these three criteria, what do you do next?

You focus on the group of products that have met those three criteria, and what you will be doing next is finding a supplier, along with automating, launching, and scaling your business. 2 Different Ways To Sell

Here are two different ways to sell. First off, you can sell your own products which is highly recommended. It’s what Jason and Matt do. It’s what honestly makes the most amount of money.

Why?

First, you get to control your price and margin. You don’t have anybody else telling you what price you can sell at, either low or high. You get no direct competition because if it’s your own unique product, you have no direct competition. You’re going to build a customer list because it’s your own product, and since they’re buying from you, they’re buying your own brand. It’s a fantastic position to be in, and it’s sustainable and long term.

The other way to sell products is the way that Jason and Matt started out and is unfortunately the way that some other people recommend: to sell somebody else’s product. This is not recommended.

Why?

Because you get no control over price because the competition and the other sellers are basically setting the price. You have to do whatever the manufacturer says. You get no customer list out of this because they’re just buying somebody else’s brand, and this business can be taken away overnight by a disgruntled manufacturer or a competitor.

You want to focus on building your own real brand by selling your own products, which is extremely easy now because of some new developments which we will

explain below. Look for products that you can create your own brand out of with the basic label or package (more on that later).

“Okay, you know, this sounds amazing. But should I be familiar with a market or have a passion for it before jumping in?”

A lot of people ask that question. You don’t have to be familiar, and that’s not how Matt or Jason started, and they’ve sold millions on Amazon. If you do, then it makes the ride even more fun. The best part about building a real business and selling your own brand of a product, is that as long as it meets the criteria outlined, you can sell whatever you want.

For example, are you interested in health, fitness, electronics and gadgets, cooking, pets, sports, outdoors, kids and toys, beauty, home improvements, survival, babies, arts and crafts, dance, yoga, hunting, iPhones, computers, working out, weight loss, food, jewelry, or anything else there’s a physical product for? If so, you can sell it, build a great business, and make a lot of money in the process.

Finding a Supplier

After you have gone through the product selection process and found a red-hot product that matches all three criteria, the next step is to find a supplier for that product.

This might seem like a daunting task, but using our supplier selection process makes it incredibly easy. It’s really as simple as doing a few searches, and then sending an email.

Jason was able to get over $100,000 per month in recurring revenue within four months following this system. They actually have students that are now getting there within weeks.

No matter what product you want to sell or what market you want to enter, finding a supplier is a simple matter of a few quick Google searches.

1. [product keyword] private label 2. [product keyword] supplier 3. [product keyword] manufacturer 4. One OPTIONAL method

So let’s jump over to Google to see exactly how to do this.

Let’s say you are trying to sell your own brand of an iPhone case. Head on over to Google and type in “iphone case private label” as your search:

You can see that there is already a potential supplier at alibaba.com, and you can bet there are a lot more as there are about 2.4 million results. You can also repeat the process by searching for all the additional keywords as well:

One other thing you can do is since you see Alibaba pop up throughout all these searches is to just go there. Alibaba is simply a supplier search engine that connects you with suppliers from all over the world. So go there and type in “iphone case,” you don’t need to add the additional keywords like “supplier” or “manufacturer” for this:

High-Quality Product Images

Having high-quality images is important because pretty much 99% of Amazon products have horrible images, which doesn’t make sense since that can be a huge turn-off for your customers. Having professional images alone can instantly set you apart from the competition and get more attention. In order to show you what it means to have high-quality product images, let’s check out the difference between some good ones and some bad with the examples below.

Basically that product was found under the Best Sellers in “wine accessories”, and is an “ice-ball maker”. It’s a machine that makes fancy round ice-cubes. Amazon only allows nine image slots. The first image shows you a really nice looking container:

You basically have to fill that gap with your images. You have to make up for the fact that they are going to buy something they can’t touch or examine. It’s hard to tell even what that is. Is it something with eggs? Ping-pong balls? Definitely not great, because how on earth are the customers going to know what that is or what it does?

And believe it or not, but that’s all the images they have. There are no other images at all! What you see is all that you get.

So if you were an average consumer comparing the two:

You can obtain these kind of images very easily. Most of them were probably made by a graphic designer, and you can get these outsourced for next to nothing. There are loads of designers that live in places like the Philippines or India who do quality work for dirt cheap.

Believe it or not, but even famous magazines do this. If you’ve ever seen those “luxury” magazines with the $20,000 watches and things of that nature, they are most likely digital images. More often than not they aren’t actual photos of the physical product at all, since you can get a much higher quality with digital images.

The good news for you is that you can be sitting anywhere in the world and hire a designer using a typical outsourcing company, and have them make you quality mockups, without ever touching your product. Strategic Product Titles

Now that we’ve gone over product images, let’s talk about the product title. Remember your product title is the 2nd fundamental aspect of a great listing on Amazon.

You want to include keywords that you want to rank for. At the time of writing, having a keyword in your product title makes you more likely to rank for that keyword. Most people just throw out a bland product description, but if you can fit keywords in there and still make it readable, you can do extremely well. You want orient your writing towards conversions.

Here’s a typical product title that most people do, which you can see time and time again throughout Amazon:

All they have for their title is “Gaiam Yoga Blocks.” That’s it! Most likely they are targeting “yoga blocks” as their keyword, which is good that they have it in there, but they are leaving a lot on the table and missing out on lots of other keywords by having a weak title. It takes all of five minutes to come up with something good, so there’s really no excuse.

Components of an Awesome Product Title

Let’s take the yoga blocks title and turn it into something great as if we were the ones selling it:

It seems like overkill, as it’s almost a paragraph long, but that’s how you write a great product title. For one, it captures a lot of keywords, and two, it’s using sales terms to boost conversions.

Let’s break it down a little:

The brand name was still included: Yoga Blocks by Gaiam.

“High-Quality Durable Foam” was added since those were other keywords people were searching for.

“Lightweight” was another keyword people were looking for along with “Stability & Increased Strength,” but they also help boost confidence in the product.

Then a bonus was added “FREE Yoga workout manual.” Adding a bonus really differentiates you and makes people want to buy your product.

Also “Lifetime Guarantee” helps to remove hesitation from buying, since there is no risk for them.

Writing Captivating Product Descriptions

Now that we’ve covered images and the product title, the last fundamental aspect of creating a home-run product listing is the product description.

So even if you know nothing about copywriting, here are six easy steps that you should follow with your description that really help bolster sales:

1. Include a Headline (“Announcing …”). For example, “Announcing the World’s Greatest Yoga Block.”

2. Mention the Big Problem that the product solves (“Tired of …”). “Are you tired of your yoga block falling apart?”

3. Write about your product in Benefits (“the [product] does …”). What does the product do for the customer, how does it solve the big problem?

4. Include Proof (# of people, facts, statistics, evidence, etc.). 5. Add a Bonus (“FREE bonus when you order …”). 6. Finally, tell them What To Do (“Click the Orange ‘Add to Cart’ Below RIGHT

NOW!”). A big thing people miss is not telling the customer what to do. They have decent headlines, state the problem, have benefits, and proof, but they don’t mention exactly how to order the product or what to do next.

Those six steps are really copywriting 101, but will set you miles apart from everyone else.

Kick-Start The Sales Engine

Now that you have the fundamentals in place, which alone gives you an advantage over 99% of Amazon sellers …

One of the easiest ways to kick-start Amazon sales is what Jason & Matt have dubbed the “Red Bull Method.”

This idea came straight from Matt during his college days. Early at 7 or 7:30 in the morning, right before classes, Monster & Red Bull trucks would come and hand out free energy drinks to students. The reason they did this was to build brand and brand recognition.

You can use the same exact idea to get reviews on Amazon. Just give away a few units of your product to friends, family, or people on Facebook. Pretty much anyone you can get ahold of that you think

would enjoy your product. All that is really required to do this is having a good product, which is what is always recommended. Give away a few units for free, and then ask them to write a review on Amazon. They do not have to have purchased from Amazon.

This is how brand-new books get thousands of reviews within the first 24 hours of the launch, because that author went to everybody that he knew and gave free

advance copies of the book. They then mention that their product launch is on X-date, and to “please go write me a review!”

It’s important not to ask for bogus or 5-star reviews or anything dishonest. You want real, unbiased reviews. Regardless, they will most likely write a good review for you anyway, but it’s something to keep in mind.

Really, that’s all it takes. It’s a simple trick to really dominate your competition and kick-start sales.

Then once you’ve added a base of reviews to your brand new Amazon listing, what you want to do is make sure a high percentage of every customer that buys writes you a review.

So you’re getting a burst of reviews at first, and then you start getting sales coming in. You want to make sure those new people continue to add reviews.

The easiest way to do that is to just send an email to everyone who purchased using Amazon’s own system. Be polite and ask them:

Did you get the product?

Is it working out for you?

Would you mind sharing your thoughts about the product?

It’s really that simple, and yet, again, almost no one on Amazon is doing this. For some reason they don’t treat Amazon as a real business and do things sloppily and without much thought. Lucky for us, we are there to scoop up all the money they are leaving behind!
