Jay McMahon
Candidate Massachusetts Attorney
GeneralI am running for
Attorney General of the Commonwealth because we can do so much better here in Massachusetts than the incumbent,
left-wing political activist who is now occupying the offi ce. At no time in the history of our state have we had an At-torney General who has been such an ideological extremist, who would actu-ally ignore Public Safety, and trample the most basic Civil Rights of the citizens of the Commonwealth for mere political expediency!
I will stop the 35 frivolous and merit-less lawsuits fi led against the Trump administration by this Attorney Gener-al, and I will instead concentrate on the public corruption in Massachusetts and make sure that indictments are handed down. I have been a trial lawyer since 1988, with thousands of cases in the Massachusetts court system, the same place where the Attorney General’s widespread offi ce operates.
With your support, I intend to fi ght for the right to represent our citizens in the Court of the Commonwealth. I will uphold the Constitution of the United States and the laws there under. We need someone who understands the Constitution, and who has been dealing with it for over 30 years.
When you are considering which can-didate you want as your next Attorney General, and I am asking you to please
look at my experience, look at what we bring to the table, and look at who has the best handle on the issues we face today:
Tackling the Opioid Crisis, cleaning up Corruption, protecting your Public Safety, maintaining your individual Civil Rights, and doing all the things that you would’ve demanded that a nor-mal and rational state Attorney General should do.
I will tackle all those problems on your behalf, and make you proud of me and proud of this Constitutional Offi ce. Thank you for your consideration and please visit my website to learn more at: www.attorneyjaymcmahon.com.

Steve TougasCandidate
State Representative Mass. 3rd NorfolkI’m running for
several reasons: 1. There would
be no choice come this November if I didn’t run, just like there was no
choice two years ago when no one ran against my current state rep.; so, seeing none, I stepped up to serve the people.
2. My current state rep. virtually votes with the speaker of the House every time. You can’t represent your district when you are a rubber stamp for another state representative.
3. My current state rep. has voted to increase your taxes time and time again, including a 40% pay raise for state offi -cials and the Legislature that has nearly tripled his own salary.
4. My current state rep. doesn’t un-derstand, or doesn’t want to understand, economics. A recent example is his vote for the $15/hour minimum wage just passed into law. Economic principle and recent history have both shown that those states with a high minimum wage have also experienced much higher infl ation and unemployment, as costs are passed along to the consumer and entry level jobs dry up. No wonder why the Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance gives him a score of 0%.
5. My current state rep. has voted to undermine religion and morality time and time again. A recent example is his vote for the elimination of overtime pay for Sundays and holidays, just passed into law. I know of one character who would have applauded taking away sup-port of those who wish to attend church and celebrate Christmas: Scrooge.
6. Collected thousands of signatures to end The Forever Gas Tax (and other initiatives), saving the state $billions. Started a state ballot initiative to End Tolling on all highways to stop their proliferation across the state (17-09).
Learn more about Steve at his website: www.stevetougas.com.
p.s. If you live in the district, please vote for me. I also appreciate your sup-port, even if it’s just prayer. Thank you and God Bless! :-) . . .

State RepresentativeMass. 5th BarnstableI am a 57-year-
old, native-born Cape Codder, who has been married for nearly 25 years to my wonderful wife, Chanda.
I have over 20 years experience in
real estate management, and am a licensed real estate broker. As for education, I have earned a Master of Science Degree in Administrative Studies from Boston College, as well as a Master of Education Degree from Lesley University.
In 2016 I won election as a Barn-stable County Commissioner repre-senting 215,000 residents of Cape Cod. In 2014 I was the Republican nominee for Cape & Islands state senator. I am a long-time regional community activist on issues related to county government, the Cape Cod Commission, regional wastewater problems, the county budget, county restructuring proposals, and much more. Additionally, I have been a lo-cal and regional government watch-dog and open meeting law advocate.
I am a conservative, staunchly pro-Trump and a pro-life candidate who is running for this offi ce because time and again my incumbent oppo-nent has clearly shown himself to be a liberal Democrat masquerading as a Republican. Enough is enough!

Boston Broadside Highlights Over $700 Million in FY2018 Budget
Amendment Spending on Questionable, Unnecessary and Superfl uous items, Driving Up the Cost of Government to
All Massachusetts Taxpayersby Ted Tripp
Sr. Political ReporterIn this final Part 13 of our analysis
of the 1210 House amendments to the FY2018 budget, we have detailed how the elected members of the Massachu-setts House show little regard to con-trolling spending and treat money as if it comes from some unknown source without an economic reckoning.
The year-long spotlight series by the Broadside shows a system that oper-ates on the principle: "You vote for my gazebo and I'll vote for your gazebo." In other words, in their club they all stick together and all spending gets approved no matter how ridiculous or outrageous the request might be. We even pointed out a budget amend-ment request by Rep. Colleen Garry of Dracut of "not less than $25,000 to construct a Gazebo in Dracut." It was, of course, approved without debate and by voice vote.
If you are new to our paper, the questionable or unnecessary amend-ments noted here and in previous installments fall mainly into two categories. First is money on projects to favor relations within a represen-tative's district. This could be for a local parade or celebration, something for the senior center, a police station carport, a new water main, fixing up a park, help for the town's "economic development," and so forth. A favorite seems to be new radios or communica-tion equipment for the police and/or fire departments. All of these things, of course, should logically be funded by the city or town within the rep's district. But, hey, if you can get some-body else to pay for it like the state, while helping your reelection effort, why not go for it? Particularly if you ...

A FEW HEADLINES from our FULL EDITIONSYou May have Missed:
to town government. I kept all my campaign promises to
hold the line on taxes. By exposing misallocations within the Water Depart-ment I’ve successfully fought to lower the water rates. In determining that residents were being overcharged for trash removal I voted to lower the trash fee. I have been tested and tried standing up for my constituents and standing up to the business-as-usual crowd. I’ll do the same as State Representative. I’m run-ning to reform Beacon Hill, just as I have led the charge to reform Stoneham town government.
To lower the tax burden, I’ll support rolling the sales and income tax back to 5%, and I will vote against raising or creating any new taxes. I have signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge. State gov-ernment needs to take less of our money, and whatever money they take, they must manage it better and not waste it.
I will always vote against Massachu-setts becoming a Sanctuary State. We must support all law enforcement at the local, state, and federal level to uphold all laws. If we do not uphold all of our immigration laws, it will put all of us in potential danger where undocumented criminals are left to roam our streets and threaten the safety of our families and neighborhoods.

Plymouth CountyCommissioner
I have served my community for more than two decades working in the emergency room dept. at the
Goddard Memorial Hospital. I volunteered for 15 years as an
EMT and fi refi ghter for the Halifax Fire Dept. and as an instructor at the Mass. Maritime Academy for CPR and fi rst aid, also a member of the National Safety Council.
I have been a leader in our commu-nity and a public servant since 2003 (after the death of my son) as I was elected to the Bridgewater Board of Health.
In 2010 I was elected a Plymouth County Commissioner as well as to the Bridgewater Town Council, on a recall for a sitting councilor. Since a county commissioner, I started a program to clean up our waterways, help towns save for future liabilities, and helped not only Bridgewater but Plymouth County to get on a strong fi nancial footing. I am a mother of three, a business owner and an entre-preneur. I am currently and actively working on opening a home for veterans being released from prison to help them with skills and train-ing to enable them to enter back into society.

From the end of his full-printed column:The political and media class are determined to defend judicial
tyranny at all costs. But there is one thing citizens can do: vote. Gov. Charlie Baker is a Democrat posing as a Republican. He has done nothing—not even a scintilla—to challenge, never mind roll back the state’s liberal establishment. He has meekly criticized bad judges, such as Timothy Feeley. Yet, Baker will not even call for Feeley’s impeachment. Just as he will not demand McGuire be removed from the bench.
Conservatives—and decent people across the Commonwealth—need to form a serious, viable political resistance. It’s time to let Baker know that his treacherous RINO ways are no longer accept-
Kevin Quinn, R.I.P. - Liberal Judge Has Blood on His Hands for Marine's Deathable. We need to send a message. We need to vote against him in the GOP gubernatorial primary on Sept. 4. Whatever your feelings about Scott Lively—love him or hate him—a vote against Baker will shake the decrepit Republican establishment to its very foun-dations. Only when conservatives capture the state GOP can any kind of vocal, principled and real opposition emerge. And then the radical liberal judiciary can be fi nally put on public trial. The issue of reckless activist judges—and what to do about them—can be put to the voters. Sadly, until then, many more brave, decent and innocent people will have to die.
Kevin Quinn and his family deserved better. We all do. ♦ Jeff rey T. Kuhner is host of “The Kuhner Report” on WRKO AM-680 in Boston.

FROM THE EDITOR• Did you enjoy all those radio and

I urge you to vote for Scott Lively for Governor. Send Charlie a strong message.

The American Conservative Union (ACU) recently released its 2017 ratings for state legislators in all 50 states. The section on Massachusetts (http://tinyurl.com/y7gz2gpv) is 18 pages long and evaluated the state's 40 senators on 13 votes and the 160 House members on 16 votes.
The ACU selected the votes based on a member's adherence to conservative principles. The votes focused on "Ronald Reagan’s philosophy of the three-legged stool: 1) fi scal and economic: taxes, bud-gets, regulation, spending, healthcare, and property; 2) social and cultural: 2nd amendment, religion, life, welfare, and education; and 3) government integrity: voting, individual liberty, privacy, and transpar-ency."
The ACU says: "This wide range of issues are designed to give citizens an accurate assessment that conveys which of Massachusetts’s elected leaders best defend the principles of a free society: Life, Liberty and Property."
Award for Conservative ExcellenceOn the summary page of what the
ACU calls 2017 Winners and Losers, there is only one name under "90-100% Award for Conservative Excellence." That name is Representative Jim Lyons
(R-Andover). No other members from the House and none from the Senate achieved a rating of 90% or better.
Congratulations to Representative Lyons!
Award for Conservative Achievement
In the category of "80-89% Award for Conservative Achievement," one senator and nine representatives made the list. These were Senator Ryan Fatt-man (R-Webster), Rep. Jay Barrows (R-Mansfi eld), Rep. Donald Berthiaume (R-Spencer), Rep. Nicholas Boldyga (R-Southwick), Rep. David DeCoste (R-Norwell), Rep. Geoff Diehl (R-Whit-man), Rep. Shawn Dooley (R-Norfolk), Rep. Bradley Jones (R-N. New Report: On Beacon Hill in 2017
Representative Jim Lyons Best Defended the
Principles of a Free Society: Life, Liberty and Property Representative Jim Lyons
Dear Massachusetts Voters:
I am running for Attorney General of the Commonwealth because we can do so much better than the left-wing political activist who is now occupying the offi ce. At no time in the history of our state have we had such a liberal incumbent who has been an ideological extremist, who would ignore Public Safety, and trample the most basic Civil Rights of our citizens for mere political expediency.
We need someone who understands and respects our Founding Documents, and who has been dealing with the law for over 30 years as a trial lawyer and small businessman.
When you are considering which candidate you want as your next state Attorney General, I am asking you to please look at my expe-rience, look at my passion I bring to the offi ce, and look at who has the best handle on the important issues we face today.
Tackling the Opioid Crisis, fi ghting Corruption, protecting your Public Safety and saving your individual Civil Rights. Instead of this agenda, Maura Healey has made the AG's offi ce overly politi-cal to benefi t her future political career - at your expense.
I will will make you proud of me and proud of this independent, Constitutional Offi ce. I ask for your support and VOTE on Tuesday, September 4th in the Massachusetts Republican Primary.
Thank you,
Jay McMahon
