Hello parents, carers and friends of Sandy Beach Public School, As we are coming to the end of 2020 there are still lots of events on our calendar, Presentation Assemblies, Year 6 surfing clinic, Graduation Ceremony for Year 6 as well as their farewell dinner. Please check our calendar for dates and times. Yesterday, our Year 6 students attended Woolgoolga High School for their transition event with much excitement but also some nervousness. Only 9 days left of school. Colourthon Tomorrow is our Colourthon. Sponsorship money has been rolling in. Many thanks to everyone who has supported us. We are hoping to raise enough to purchase water filtration stations for students to refill bottles. This was chosen by the Student Council. Fingers crossed we can purchase one for Infants and another for Primary. A reminder due to Covid-19 restrictions this is an event for students and staff only. We will endeavour to post lots of great photos on our Facebook page. Return Books As we are stocktaking for the end of year could we please ask families to return library books and home readers. This would be much appreciated by those staff members completing the stocktake. P&C AGM On Monday night we held the AGM. Although a lot of events have been cancelled this year they did run a Father’s Day stall and have managed the canteen through closures and a change of canteen supervisors mid-year. At the meeting it was acknowledged what a great job Sharon Edman has done in this position. The 2021 positions were voted on with everyone retaining their role for next year. Mr Guihot is retiring Mr Guihot is retiring this year. We know that he has been involved in the education of many families in our community. He has been a dedicated teacher who brings fun and creativity to his classroom. If you get the chance please take the time to say a personal thanks and acknowledge his part in educating generations at Sandy Beach. Semester Reports Teachers have completed reports and these will be sent out on Monday 14 December. Please contact your class teacher if you will not be at school in this last week so you can receive the report earlier.
