More on the Spirit-led ministry

THROUGH PEOPLE

The Spirit moves through disciples: THROUGH GIFTS/TALENTS

AC 4:32-37 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had… There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to anyone as he had need. Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas (which means Son of Encouragement), sold a field he owned and brought the money and put it at the apostles' feet.

The Spirit moves through disciples: THROUGH MISTAKES

• AC 5:1-5 But a certain man named Ananias, with his wife Sapphira, sold a piece of property, and kept back some of the price for himself, with his wife's full knowledge, and bringing a portion of it, he laid it at the apostles' feet. But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit, and to keep back some of the price of the land? "While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? … Why is it that you have conceived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to men, but to God." And as he heard these words, Ananias fell down and breathed his last; and great fear came upon all who heard of it…

• Do we appreciate it when people try to use their talents for God?

• Binibigyan-pansin ba natin ang gifts ng iba, kahit na iba ito sa gifts natin?

• Paano ang reaction natin kapag nagkakamali ang mga Christians?

• Do we realize that the Spirit can work through any mistake?

• Natututo ba tayo sa pagkakamali ng iba?

The Spirit moves through disicples’ GIFTS & MISTAKES

Main leaders in Acts

Seats of leadership must be filled 1st

AC 1:15-22 And at this time Peter stood up …and said, "Brethren, the Scripture had to be fulfilled…concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus. "For he was counted among us, and received his portion in this ministry." …[OT reference] "It is therefore necessary that of the men who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us--…--one of these should become a witness with us of His resurrection."

The Spirit moves through leaders:

• Leaders led in witnessing/evangelism, Acts 4.33• Leaders handled disciplinary issues, Acts 5.1-11• Leaders prayed and ministered the word, Acts 6.4• Leaders took greatest responsibility, Acts 6.1-2• Leaders worked on problem, Acts 8.14• Leaders handled resources, Acts 11.30• Leaders break barriers, Acts 13.1-4• Leaders repented first, Acts 11, 15• Leaders were martyred first, Acts 7

• How do we view leadership?

• Do we pray for our leaders?

• How do we treat our leaders?

• Do we try to relate to our leaders?
