Operator Station. The work station isdesigned to be quiet and comfortable forthe operator, assuring high productivityduring a long work day. The Caterpillardesigned electronic control system usesVIDS (Vital Information Display System)as the easy interface between the machineand the operator or the serviceman.

1.9 m (6'5") Cab Riser. Cat designed andbuilt cab riser gets your operator to anoperating height with excellent visibilityfor loading or unloading your processingequipment, trucks, rail cars, and barges.Access to the cab is provided by aplatform which extends around the riserto allow windshield cleaning. The cabriser can also be manually tilted forward90 degrees for shipping.

33 kW hydraulically driven generator set.The exclusive Caterpillar genset canpower magnets up to 1981 mm (78 in.)in diameter. A Caterpillar patentedstate-of-the-art electronic magnetcontroller and generator are linked toprovide trouble free service. The newcontroller completely eliminatestraditional contactor maintenance andit is supported and warranted throughyour Cat dealer.

• The material handling front offers amaximum horizontal reach of 18.9 m(61'11") from swing center and amaximum vertical pin height of19.2 m (62'10") at 9.7 m (31'11")from swing center. This front is anexcellent match for a two and a halfcubic yard scrap grapple.

• The cambered boom barge unloadingfront offers a maximum horizontalreach of 16.9 m (55'6") from swingcenter and a maximum vertical pinheight of 14.5 m (47'5") at 12.4 m(40'8") from swing center. This frontis an excellent match for a threecubic yard scrap grapple.

Innovative Cat 3196 ATAAC diesel engine.Delivers large-engine performance froma compact engine design. The six-cylinder287 kW (385 hp) engine is turbochargedand air-to-air aftercooled. With highhorsepower and low displacement, thisengine provides excellent fuel economyand durability that can significantlyreduce operating costs.

Material Handler Hydraulic Systems.Auxiliary hydraulics are specificallydesigned to meet your hydraulicattachment requirements. The grappleopen/close circuit works with the otherimplement circuits to deliver smooth,simultaneous, multi-function control.Load sensing PPPC (ProportionalPriority Pressure Compensation) systemnow with Caterpillar developed Hydracelectronic actuation combines a provensystem with state-of-the-art electroniccontrol for high efficiency and excellentcontrollability.
