Founded in Raleigh in 1967, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) of Wake County is dedicated to creating a more humane community where every adoptable animal has a home. Each year the SPCA rehomes over 3,200 animals through its innovative adoption programs.

The SPCA of Wake County is a leader in animal welfare in the state of North Carolina focusing on adoption, spay/neuter, and education programs with the goal of ending euthanasia of adoptable pets in the communities we serve.

We are a no-kill organization completely funded by private donations with a nearly 50-year track record of service in the state. We are not affiliated with national organizations like the ASPCA or Humane Society of the United States.
