Parents write appreciation at close of

challenging school yearAfter a year of online schooling of their children, SISC parents sent complimentarymessages regarding the school’s Virtual Online Learning and Teaching (VOLT)Program and the teachers’ caring and helpful approach which went over and abovetheir expectations. They expressed their gratitude for SISC’s effort, dedication andfortitude in helping students navigate a rough pandemic year to reach their learninggoals.

Below are excerpts of emails received from parents that show the special bondbetween the school, the students and their families during this unprecedented time:

“School year 2020-2021 went past with the speed of the development of the COVID-19 vaccine! While our attention was on the lockdowns, the numbers of infection, andnow the resbakuna programs, the school operated inconspicuously - unnoticed, invisible, but churning like a well-oiled perpetual engine!

We succeeded because of the triumvirate effort, interaction and cooperation betweenthe school, the students and their parent(s). I would like to congratulate the amazingstewardship of the school during virtual learning and also the commendableperformance of the teachers, advisers and sponsors. Their desire, determination, dedication, discipline and, most importantly, their patience, where key factors in thisachievement.”- Parent of Grade School student “Last April, my two children and I, along with other members of our household, testedpositive for COVID-19. It was a terrible time for us, compounded by the fact that I hadto be hospitalized twice. My husband who, thankfully, tested negative was in thehospital constantly to see to my needs. Being away from our children, especially in thelast leg of the third term when final exams were happening and requirements weredue, was really hard.

The Southville teachers really helped our kids during this time, stepping in as secondparents so they can do well in their exams, finish their requirements and, generally, just checking on them to see how they were doing. While worry and fear was a

constant companion during that time, we were comforted by the knowledge that therewere kind people looking after our kids.”- Parents of High School student
