Our Mission: What do we plan to do?
To provide students with knowledge of various cultures
of Spanish Speaking Countries,
gain a better insight into challenges and issues within
various countries,
learn different cultural customs
have fun

Merengue Dance
What? Participate in a merengue dance workshop!!
Why? To raise money for children in Bonao, Dominican Republic
Time Estimation: 2.5 hours
Pelota Drive!
What? Fill plastic bins with ball toys (class competition maybe??)
Why? Donate the bins to orphanages in Bogota Colombia, and Cayey, Puerto Rico
Time Estimation: varied
Latin Dance Party
What? Learn various styles of latin american dance -salsa-rumba-regueton-chacha-merengue-bachata
Why? To raise money for hospitals in Ecuador and Honduras
Time Estimation: 2 Hours
Quinceanera Fabrics Galore
What? Collect old formal and semiformal dresses and fabric material
Why? To donate to an orphanage in Mexico
Time Estimation: varied
Friendship Bracelets
What? Learn how to make friendship bracelets
Why? To teach a younger student learning English at a YMCA or Boys and Girls Club
Time Estimation: About 2 hours
Tutor a Child in English
What? Visit an ESL lab for children in Cleveland and volunteer
Why? To help children make learning English fun!!
Time Estimation: 2 hours each time
Spanish Mid-Term Party
What? Study session for all students taking Spanish. Come relax, ask questions if you have them, and answer questions if you are able to!
Time Estimation: 1.5 hours (depends)
Art Supply Drive
What? Art supply drive for children in a school in Boliva and Venezuela
Why? To provide school supplies to children who don’t have access to them
Time Estimation: varies
Activities!
Julia De Burgos Center
What? Learn how to play Latin music drums or traditional puerto rican dance (Bomba y Plena)
Why? To learn about Puerto Rican culture
Time Estimation: none
Cooking
What? Learn to cook!
