• Staff coordinated over 700 volunteer hours with Northwestern, ETHS, other organizations and residents

• 820 campers attended seven summer camps at four separate sites

• 500 campers participated in canoe trips including campers from Fleetwood Jourdain, Robert Crown and camp REAL

• 272 garden plots rented to residents at four locations – Lighthouse, James Park, Twiggs and McCormick Gardens

• Free Access to Fishing program at Lovelace Pond saw over75 participants each Saturday and over 150 participants on Fishing Frenzy Day

• The Cultural Arts Division offered 17 different Summer Arts Camps, providing learning opportunities in the arts for more than 500 kids

• This year’s Arts Camp theme was Inheritance and Legacy, in recognition of the founding of the program by Marilyn Price 30 years ago

2012 MSYEP Outreach Procedures• Conducted student recruitment through key staff members at the

Youth Job Center, Family Focus, Y.O.U. and McGaw YMCA;

• Held seven employment outreach sessions at Evanston Library (2 sessions), Chandler-Newberger Center, Robert Crown Community Center, Ecology Center, Levy Senior Center, and Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center.

• Conducted outreach sessions at all Evanston Middle Schools, and Evanston Township High School.

• Visited two area alternative high schools.
