What does this show us? - Juniors• Junior teams continue to develop since merger in 2006.

• Most of lower graded junior teams are playing against the top teams of other clubs.

• All teams are very competitive without dominating grades – no mixed in A grade.

All very obvious

As we improve up the grades we need to

•Train longer and harder to make the same improvements in skills and team play

•Players have to improve technique execution in games to compete

•Players need to improve decision making

•Fitness levels need to rise

Page 12: Southern United H.C. Coaching Workshop Nov 2007

But!!!!!•We have no more real training time available for all teams to access extra ground time.

•We don’t have coaches for all team

So what can we do?•Be more effective with the time we have

•Empower our players to learn themselves

•Create more learning opportunities for the atheletes

Self Reflection• What did you set out to achieve for the 2007 season?

• How well did you achieve these?

•What areas did you find you needed to improve? - how did you know what area?

• Do we know what the players want? – Role of the Coach - Why are we here?
