Bill is a Thibodaux native and known for his 30 years of photography of land- scape and the Oaks. As an undergraduate in jour- nalism at our own Nicholls State Universi- ty, he was introduced to photography as part of his journalistic studies in college, and then pursued self-study and workshop training. His mentor told him to “find some- thing you love and pho- tograph it again and again. Then, over time, your feelings will begin to shine through in your photographs.” Most of Bill’s early photography began with Black & White photo- graphs, but he began to experiment by integrat- ing color techniques us- THE FOUR WAY TEST 1.) In the years following hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Bill made a commit-ment to locate and photograph 100 of the oldest member trees in the Louisi-ana Live Oak Society. Bill was sad-dened to see the damage that the hurri-canes had on the longstanding oaks, and felt an obligation to preserve their existence for years to come through his photography. His ultimate goal of this effort is to raise awareness for the importance of human protection of these historic trees which are gentle icons of Southern culture.
