Section marking Star Route (A) - Red/Blue

Gentlefolk (B) - White Riders on the Past and Present Route will ride 50% on the Red/Blue Route and 50% on the

White route as indicated on the appropriate section. I f a deviation is required for the rigid bikes this will be marked by Yellow markers.

From the East heading West.

Follow A361 passing 2 junctions with turnings to South Molton (Bish Mill & Station Rd), the 3*̂ opportunity is NORTH ALLER R/bout (the NorthGate Inn is directly across the R/bout). As you approach take the T' exit sign posted B3226 South Molton. At the next R/bout take the 2"̂ * exit into South Mohon then passing the Quince Honey Farm on Right Take the turning right signposted B3227 Torrington (West Street) Follow B3227 West Street out of South Molton going s/over the mini roundabout with new housing development on Left. After approx. 2.5 miles look out for two cream/grey houses on left and cross roads called 4 white gates. Turn Left signposted Warkleigh 2.5 miles look out for orange arrow (castrol sign). Follow road until you reach crossroads, turn Right towards Warkleigh. Turn right towards WARKLEIGH CHURCH. At next crossroads go straight over, signposted Warkleigh Church and Shortridge. Follow road through farm yard (farm house on right, Church on left). After YA mile pass road on left signposted Claytown. Entrance to trial is immediately ahead on your right. From West heading East Head for the Rising Sim pub Umberleigh. Go over bridge heading towards South Molton on the B3227. Immediately you are over the bridge, turn right signposted Warkleigh 4 miles (Orange Castrol sign). Follow road over railway line and straight on for approx. 3.5 miles, stay on tarmac road do not turn off. After approx. 3.5 miles the trial entrance will be on the left sign posted with Orange Castrol arrow.

Order of Start: Riders will be sent to various parts of the course at the start time

W E L C O M E T O T H E 34th E X M O O R C L A S S I C T R I A L

On behalf of the South West Classic Trials Association I take this opportunity to extend a very warm West Country welcome to all competitors and observers, both our many regulars and those joining us for the first time. This 34* running of the 'Exmoor' sees a change of first day venue again. We have been lucky enough that rider Tony Henbest has allowed us use of the family land in North Devon for our first day's trialling. There is an abundance of woods streams and climbs to cater for all tastes. There is a good flat field for Parking and there will be Toilets and a food supplier to cater for all your needs. We have already used the land for our Classic Trial -The Bantam Bil l , during the summer of 2017. This will provide a longer course with hopefully less queues. Change is not always a bad thing; it's nice to be able to provide some fresh challenges for our regulars. Both days' venues are now in the same county of Devon Our thanks go to the land owners. The Henbest Family and Fred Beer at Warkleigh and our old friend Joe Leworthy at Shallowford Farm. Who has agreed to allow overnight camping i f required (please respect his kindness making sure you leave no mess or litter). We are once again grateful to our sponsors, John Mc Donald and family at the 'Twinshock Shop' for their generosity, this, coupled with the kind assistance we receive from 'County Garage', the Seat car dealer in Kingsteignton, certainly goes a long way towards easing the production of this event. Toilet facilities are available at both venues thanks to Nick Hunt, and Lynton Catering will be in attendance supplying hot & cold food and drinks on both days. The raffle proceeds will this year be donated to the Devon Air Ambulance, for which service we in the South West have had to use at an event on Dartmoor when a rider collapsed. Please give generously for this worthy cause and with luck you'll take away a prize or two. Further thanks go to all the competitors and observers for making the effort to join us, without the observers, of course, the event would be impossible to run. Finally and importantly our thanks go to our Club Secretary and Clerk of the Course, Bob Hill - a long time rider of big Ariel's and also a Twinshock Suzuki. Bob is assisted by course plotters and Trial Secretary George and Louise Atkins. Thanks to them for the many hours and hard work that they've put in to provide your weekend's sport. We hope the Easter weather turns out to be favourable and that you enjoy good riding, a little luck, and most of all a superb weekend of testing but enjoyable sport.
