Academic Career

Georgetown PathwayThe Georgetown Campus was awarded a 14-month, $200,000 grant to implement a Pathway Through Apprenticeship initiative. The project is one of just three funded statewide, and focuses on entry-level employees with low math skills and no GED. The training will prepare them to enter or complete the Aerospace Joint Apprenticeship Committee (AJAC) apprentice program. A second component focuses on current first- and second-year apprentices interested in pursuing a college degree. This project is a partnership between the Georgetown Campus, AJAC, Puget Sound Educational Service District (PSESD), the Council on Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL), and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM&AW).

Higher OneStarting summer quarter, students will have new options of accessing financial aid and scholarship funds through our new partnership with Higher One. With the Seattle Colleges Card, the choices are:

The boat is owned by Billy Schumacher (“Billy the Kid”) the former unlimited champion driver. Schumacher Racing paid a shop fee and materials costs for the student project. Guidelines regarding requesting announcements.

The readerboards are for college-sponsored and college-related events. Examples include student activities, job and information fairs, wine and garden events, and visitor/special guest welcomes. Sorry, we can’t put your birthday up there.

If you would like a readerboard announcement, please email Mary Kohl with the message wording including the name, time, place, and date of your event. Please provide as much notice as possible so your message can be scheduled in a timely manner.

There are only four screens so PIO makes judgments regarding priority of placement and rotation. Last-minute situations arise when an important meeting or event has been scheduled with very little notice, which may necessitate schedule adjustments.

No bells or whistles. Sorry, our official variance prohibits the use of electronic special effects like fireworks, wine corks popping, bulbs blooming, or the like.

To find out more, email Mary Kohl at [email protected] or call her at ext. 6873.
