He has been involved in the life of our communities since the early 1970s and it was the PCC of Hoby, Rotherby, Brooksby and Ragdale that first sponsored Malcolm on his journey to become a Reader. This support has been repaid many times over and his dedication to our communities continues undiminished today. It is highly appropriate that this has been recognised by his appointment as an Honorary Canon of Leicester Cathedral, an honour well deserved and universally welcomed. His contribution has extended well beyond his service as a Reader (he has also been general secretary of the Leicester Diocesan Association of Readers). He is the Churchwarden of Brooksby Parish Church and has seen it through significant restoration. His contribution to the Upper Wreake PCC as vice-chair, sometime secretary and magazine editor has been enormous and he is also the vice-chair of the South West Framland Group Council. He has a significant gift in ministry to bereaved families, supporting them and taking funerals. He carries out home visits and administers home communions. He has worked with many rectors, vicars, retired clergy, readers and churchwardens. He has also worked ecumenically, and consequently it helps us to put his many years of service to us into some sort of perspective. We thank God for Malcolms work among us and for the support he gets from Sue in carrying out his calling. Congratulations Malcolm T he Parish of the Upper Wreake and, of late, churches across South West Framland

and elsewhere in the Deanery of Framland have been very fortunate to have been supported so loyally and conscientiously by Malcolm Britton’s ministry to us as a Reader for more than 28 years.

We thank God for Malcolm’s work among us and for the support he gets from Sue in carrying out his calling. His installation as a canon will take place in Leicester Cathedral during choral evensong on Sunday September 11 at 3.00 pm, conducted by our new bishop, Martyn Snow. A warm welcome is extended to all who would like to attend.
