H ere we are starting out a new year again, January is all but used up and February is just a week away.
We are starting the year with a bang: For our January meeting Neal White and a friend from BAWA, Harold Paterson, are
presenting a program on Hide Glue. They are calling it: "We'll stick with hide glue." They will be talking about how to use it, what its advantages are, what equipment you need to get started, show some typical joints, and anything else that can to highlight its properties. In addition Tom Gaston is bringing in his “Nibble Box” In February Mike Papa will be presenting a program on wooden dowel hinges for small boxes. In March Fred Sotcher will be demonstrating methods of furniture repair, bonding joints, refinishing, matching stain colors and more. So we are off to a great start. As for me, I am in big trouble. My grand daughter is moving into her first apartment that at this time has not one piece of furniture. On top that, she is expected to deliver her first “new kid” in March. I took her down to Thos Moser in the city and she made up a list of the pieces she would like. O-my, o-my I feel I am going to have a busy year. The good news is that I am going to be a great, grand dad. Where did all the time go? I hope we all make an effort to chat with our new members and guests and help make them feel welcome. Thank you! Don’t forget to bring a woodworking friend and your latest project for show and tell. See you at the Church,
Fred Sotcher
