CODE OF CONDUCT INTERNSHIP CODE OF CONDUCT

The following is expected of you as an intern representing Source Black:

Source Black’s Code of Values applies to your conduct while performing your internship.

Be punctual.

Familiarize yourself with and adhere to relevant organizational arrangements, procedures,

and functions.

Understand what constitutes a permissible work absence and whom to notify if absent.

In case of absence the manager must be informed beforehand. And an Application for Leave

must be given to the manager.

If you feel victimized by a work-related incident, you should contact the Director/ Manger.

Once you have begun an internship, you may not withdraw from it except under

extraordinary circumstances, and then only with permission of the Director of Internships. A

dishonorable dismissal from an internship site will be reflected in your final grade in the

internship course.

Act in a professional and ethical manner.

Watch your appearance and dress appropriately.

Follow through on commitments.

Do not conduct personal business during interns hours.

Be on time to work and with assignments; give it your best effort.

Be positive and supportive.

Keep an open mind, avoid jumping to conclusions, and try to make informed judgments.

Be observant—see how people organize their ideas and respond to situations.

Communicate

Listen

Ask questions.

Keep coworkers informed in a useful, succinct way.

Be fair, considerate, honest, trustworthy, and cooperative when dealing with co-workers.

Assert yourself and your ideas in an appropriate and tactful manner.

Seek feedback from your Manager, accept suggestions for corrective changes in behavior and

attempt to improve performance.

Accept constructive criticism and continuously strive to improve performance.

Seek to enhance your professional effectiveness by improving skills and acquiring new

knowledge.

You Represent Source Black, no matter your background, school, cast, color or creed.

DO NOT engage in the following:

NO smoking during intern hours or any similar activity. REMAIN DRUG FREE.

DO NOT use abusive language during intern hours.

BE VERY CAREFUL in your behavior and language towards EVERYONE.

ABIDE with all the instructions given by YOUR manager.

DO NOT indulge YOURSELF in un-necessary DEBATES.

DO NOT engage in PHYSICAL or VERBAL FIGHT with fellow interns or students.

BE VERY CAERFUL in YOUR BEHAVIOUR during intern time in Boys High School and Girls High

School.

STRICTLY FOLLOW ALL OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED.

**For all INTERNS. YOU Represent Source Black only, and are not representing any other

organization/school you may belong to during this internship.

**An act of dishonor, un-acceptable behavior or absence without notice will result in the intern being

banned from further projects. And may also result in the expulsion of intern from the internship. And

thus no certificate of participation shall be awarded.

**ANY INTERN NOT HAVING ALEAST 6 ATTENDED S.A.P SESSIONS SHALL NOT BE AWARDED A

CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION.

OBJECTIVES

1) As members of a Model UN Society, our domain is not just restricted to debating and discussion of issues of considerable importance at both national and international levels, but also taking constructive and progressive steps towards the implementation of the United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

2) As part of the better schools/colleges in the country, we take immense interest in developing Human Resource through both educational and social initiatives; our Summer Internship and Community Outreach programs both serve as platforms to achieve this aim. S.A.P is the first ever project of these.

3) As part of a Global community, our goals are to facilitate growth of International

Relations and links on the academic level, encourage and celebrate diversity, and provide platforms for interaction and discussion on issues of global relevance.

TENTATIVE SESSIONS

Session 1: Introduction and ‘Ice-breaking’ activities. Session 2: Guide through public speaking tips and confidence building measures culminating in a preliminary declamation contest among the students. Session 3: Discussion on current affairs followed by the assignation of a particular topic to each group upon which they will have to speak for 5 minutes. Session 4: Inculcate critical thinking skills via simple exercises such as argument building and pro-con lists. Session 5: Art session + short clippings and videos. Session 6: Leadership skills and team-work training + Sports activities. Session 7: Vocabulary building via reading excerpts + grammar drills to help them construct writing pieces easily and put forth their thoughts as eloquently as possible. Session 8: Final writing assignment.

NOTES

The main target of this program are students of 7th grade and above. Students below this cohort will not be strictly subject to these guidelines. Session 3, will be wide-ranging discussion on national and international issues and requires grasp over Pakistan/Social Studies. Session 5, and Session 6, , will take place only if relevant facilities are available or can be conveniently provided. These sessions might also be held alternatively between schools to make sure the program reaches out to all students equally. Session 8, will also include a Farewell and Prize/certificate distribution ceremony. Awards shall be given to students who have performed well. Between sessions students will also be assigned relevant homework to build upon what has been taught and as helping-aid for the coming session.
