Sound Waves
A Wonderful MBC Tradition
The 79th performance of the MBC is sure to entertain you.
Come join in on the fun and excitement—plan to attend the Friday, July 31 public
performance or the Saturday, August 1 performance for MBC members and their
guests!
Follies Chair Michele Volpe LaTorre welcomes back director Brian Henry for his 13th season, and musical
director Rich Chiarappa and his band for their 35th Follies!
Saturday night tickets will be on sale starting Sunday, July 19 at 9:30am. Friday night tickets can be pur-
chased from the Front Desk, also starting July 19. Friday night is casual, open to the public and the young
and young at heart. Saturday night is black tie optional and a gala buffet dinner will be served promptly
at 6:30pm. Stop by and participate in the Silent Auction. Bob Kiely and Maureen Dalton and the entire
Silent Auction Committee have been hard at work to offer a wide variety of items for purchase from art
to wine to assorted MBC items, as well as a few surprises. Most of the Silent Auction items have been
graciously donated by MBC members.
Proceeds from will be donated to various charities through the
Madison Foundation. It is a longstanding MBC tradition that Club members either
become a Patron of the Follies and/or purchase an advertisement in our playbill.
Please see the Follies section of the MBC website for advertising forms.
I hope to see you rocking to the 80’s beat at the
Best Follies Ever!

Again this year, each member will have the opportunity to make a contribution to the Employ-
ees Gratuity Fund as an expression of appreciation for the fine services of the MBC staff. Details

It’s been a great summer of
tennis, and the second half
promises to be equally fan-

Kevin Burke /Jason Burke -Father/Child 14 & under
John McArdle /Cole McArdle - Father/Child 18 & under
The always popular Davis Cup tourna-
ment drew players of all levels and
proved to be a very competitive week-
end of tennis. Team Australia was victo-
rious for the first time ever in MBC histo-
ry. Team Australia: Jonathan Aranow
(captain), Karen Aranow, Allison Bauer,
Tom Fitzgerald, Dick Grant, Carolyn
Matthes, Linda Murphy, Sep Sajjad,

It's been a fabulous summer at the beach! The first Tuxis Swim was a success, and all the rest of our events are still to come! We hope you have taken the time to enjoy the beach as much as possible. And we love seeing the kids fly on the new swings! What a treat! Lifeguard Annie has been getting our members stronger in the waves weekday morn-
ings. Swim lessons will continue through August; simply sign up at the Beach Hut. Thank you to all our members for continuing to follow common courtesy so all can enjoy the beach. With such good weather we have seen many full days on both the upper and lower beach. Don't be shy, talk to each other, as many times there are enough chairs to share even if it isn't immediately obvious. And don't forget the metal chairs that allow you to sit with your feet in the water! As always we appreciate your cooperation in signing in yourself and your guests every time you enter the beach. May the wind be at your back and your toes in the sand!
