to sail under the watchful eye of Quassapaug Sailing

Center’s certified instructors. Explore the rich diversity of

Flanders’ Whittemore Sanctuary on daily hikes and

educational expeditions led by Flanders’ experienced

Our future earth stewards will explore a variety of habitats as they discover diversity of life at Flanders. Following the footsteps of past explorers, students will capture, observe and release live specimens to connect biology concepts and life science discoveries to environmental issues today. Along with hiking trails, students will use digital microscopes, apps, art and technology to create digital journals, research wildlife characteristics and create social media environmental messages to share with our online community. Lessons include forest management, natural resource conservation, survival skills, orienteering and invasive species management. This

unique, hands-on experience help youth find their role to protect nature.

As counselors in training, campers will participate in hands-on activities and stories that promote understanding, appreciation and empathy for the earth. Earth Explorers will experience pride of volunteerism as they practice a leadership role with the younger campers. They will share environmental science discoveries, create nature-inspired art, help with animals at the North Barn and assist with

creative cooking.

Students will enjoy Flanders’ great outdoor spaces and will be inspired as they

prepare themselves for a life of environmental responsibility and service!
