Representation of age.
In my thriller the representation of age is challenge, because in todays society younger people are seen
to be no good and are frowned upon by elders. In my thriller the villain id s middle aged man whomurders a younger man, this flips around the audiences views of age. We have done this to challenge
the audiences thinking and making them not sure who to reason with. Although the killer, Brutus, is a
nasty character the older audience should feel some ambivalent feelings towards him because even
though they hate one side of him for killing Caesar and being cruel and unnecessary the audience relate
to Brutuss protective feeling for his daughter. This feeling of uncertainty makes the audience question
the rest of the thriller and want to find out the conclusion. There are often programs on TV that show
different ages battling to win something or to fix conflict for example Brat Camp where the parentssend their horrible child to a strict camp to sort out behaviour and attitudes. The audience that watch
these types of programs are often strongly opinionated about the younger generation. Programs like
Brat Camp typically stereotype youngsters which doesnt help their image in society.

Ethnicity.
In our thriller we have challenge ethic
stereotypes by using Caesar, a tall coloured
man, as the victim of Brutus a white middle
aged murderer, we have done this to make our
thriller less predictable and more challenging.
our thriller is greatly linked to This Is England
because they both represent gritty Britain and
the government that shape England. Another
thing that is represented in both my thriller
Caesar and This Is England is racism, we have
chosen to represent racism because it is a very
fragile subject that a lot of people have strong
views of. The representation ofEthnicity in films
varies greatly for example in gangster films often
coloured men are seen to be thugs or real hard
men, I have challenged this is my thriller because
Caesar is a good man who has a kind heart.

Gender
Women in my thriller play a very small
part I have chosen to stick to this
because often the women are made
strong independent people to prove
that they are equal to men, I have
ignored this because I believe that the
character of Helen in my thriller is very
dependent on her father and that is why
he gets protective and kills Caesar. By
giving the men higher authority in my
thriller Helen is shown to be almost
like a doll they are fighting over giving
her femme fatale characteristics and
representing a typical movie character
portrayal of a woman. This links to
Seven because there are not many
woman throughout the film, and the
main one is murdered at the end
showing her status.
