In Spring-Summer 2013, SOREL is introducing a women’s

boot collection for the warmer months for the first time. The

Summer Boot collection is a natural evolution for the brand and

will embrace the continuation of the boot season. SOREL has

transformed its winter boots into more wearable and lightweight

footwear for spring/summer. Styles are playful, relaxed, real,

natural, charismatic and soft, with fashion highlights such as

full-grain perforated leather or canvas uppers.

The native moccasin/Mukluk inspired designs and handcrafted

patterned knits are still trending. Celebs and fashion-followers

are throwing back to the nostalgic 70’s by wearing their ankle-

high Minnetonka’s and Navajo-inspired prints with the shortest

of shorts. Focusing on the laid back and deconstructed look

that is casual yet fashionable; Sorel is providing a wearable,

stripped down version of our classic boots. These summer

boots are breathable, lightweight, deconstructed, minimal, and

comfortable for the warmer months.

A “rock ‘n roll” take on a SOREL classic. The Joplin boot

takes inspiration from SOREL’s classic Tivoli and blends

it with the laid-back moccasin look that was a staple of

70’s female rock artists. The Joplin Perfed Leather takes

its inspiration from the original Joplin, but is made summer

appropriate in beautiful full-grain perforated leather. The

Joplin features whip stitching, unlined lightweight materials

in neutral colors with a natural crepe midsole and outsole.

Our new short summer boot collection is inspired by the remote

lake cabin in the mountains, where lazy days are spent canoeing,

sunning on the dock, picnics in the grassy fields and afternoon

hikes. The Lake Wedge and Lake Boot Peep Toe are takedowns

from some of our most popular boots: the Tivoli and our iconic

Joan of Arctic Wedge.

wedge looks fabulous with everything from cut-off shorts to

silhouette: the Lake Boot Peep Toe. Inspired by our iconic

industrial boot parts, this short booty is equal parts tough

and sophisticated. A boot inspired upper looks great in a

A revival of the Kaufmann 1912 ‘outing collection’ captures the

carefree spirit of bygone summers. This footwear is inspired by

the plimsole (or plimsoll), originally developed in the early 1800s

as beachwear and often referred to as the ‘sand shoe’.

Fun, lightweight sneakers feature modern designs with vintage

inspiration, sun bleached colours and lightweight materials. All

of the materials tell a story, whether it’s the washed out canvas

or picnic basket-inspired woven canvas of the early 1900’s. We

drew inspiration for our heritage. Kaufman Rubber Factory, the

company that started SOREL, created a line of shoes in the

early 1900’s when it was common to have footwear for specific

activities like picnicking, bathing or golfing. We also drew

inspiration from the carefree summer days of surfing and riding

beach cruisers in the 1950’s and 1960’s and the popular CVO,

circular vamp oxford from that era.

The Picnic Weave took inspiration form SOREL’s archive

of “outing shoes” including this modern interpretation of a

shoe to be worn while picnicking. This style features a picnic

basket-inspired woven canvas toe for an airy, effortless

look. Washed canvas upper, canvas lining, vulcanized rubber

midsole, and rubber outsole. This shoe can be stylishly worn

with or without laces.

A modern update to the Brogue style of walking shoe

originally sported by country gentlemen in the early twentieth

century. A UK classic, the brogue is easily recognized by its

sturdy design and distinctive perforations on the upper. Our

modernized version can be worn with or without the leather

laces (included). The clean silhouette comes in leather or

suede, both of which only get better as they’re broken in.

Sharp details include a leather lining and footbed and a

leather outsole with rubber traction pods.

In the mid 1800s, European armies wore rugged shoes much

like this one. Here, we’ve revamped it to conquer modern-

day life. Tough enough for corporate battles and refined

enough for more civilized gatherings, the Derby is a classic

style characterized by the eyelet tabs sewn on top of the

vamp. Our modernized version can be worn with or without

the leather laces (included). The clean silhouette comes in
