SONO 3000 is a transit time-basedtransmitter that can be used onany pipe up to DN 4000.It employsan advanced transit time signalprocessing technology with aninnovative direct ultrasound trans-mission technique and digitalcorrelation signal detection tech-nique that ensures a reliable andaccurate signal detection for a widerange of processes.

Direct ultrasound transmissionOne of the keys to SONO 3000flowmeter precision performance

is its transmission technique.It shoots ultrasound pulses directlyto the receiving transducer withoutbouncing them off the interiorwalls of the pipe. This way, thepresence of any scale build-up oninterior pipe walls will not weakenor degrade transmitted signals.

Advanced digital signalprocessing and diagnosticsDifficult applications involvingmany bends, valves or short inletconditions often require closerexamination to maximize accuracy

and performance. Knowing thatthe quality of a transit time flow-meter depends on its ability to

determine exactly when the ultra-sound signal reaches the receivingtransducer, Siemens engineersdeveloped a new correlationmethod that greatly improves sig-nal detection.

These features are deployed in theself-diagnostic menus such as sig-nal level, signal/noise ratio and thequality of the measured transmis-sion time.

SONO 3100 is ideal for difficultapplications where scale build-upcreates problems, typically treated
