___________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Dear Sir/Madam,
It is with great excitement that I am applying for this position. I am a graduate student with a Master of Science
in Information Systems and Operations Management degree at University of Florida. I worked as a temporary
software engineer at Sumtotal Systems for one year.
At Sumtotal, I worked on the DataImport module of ELMS (Enterprise Learning Management System) in an
agile development environment. I participated part of the architecture discussion, especially the AngularJS
client side routing and ASP.NET MVC server side routing connection design. The component I developed is the
AdhocRun upload and download page which involves AngularJS, RESTful WebAPI, ASP.NET MVC and
stored procedure development in SQL server. I developed a nested hybrid AJAX call to allow user to upload
multiple files to designated directory with callback for page redirection control. For the download part, I
customized two consecutive native AJAX calls to MVC layer to reduce stored procedure call for validating and
downloading the import templates buffer which is collected from the DB table to files. Besides developing full
stack functionality of my AdhocRun component, I was actively involved in maintenance such as fixing bugs
and implementing new requirements of other developers’ components. Such as developed dynamic AngularJS
filter to restrict user to select time, developed the User-Domain authentication by using native Ajax calls to
MVC layer to get domain level from DB to restrict users based on the domain security rules, developed
validation code for importing external and internal ID conditionally and so on.
Previously, I worked as a student staff in a web developer role at the University of Florida Career Resource
Center (CRC). During my time at the CRC, I have utilized the AngularJS framework to develop a responsive
internal website search engine and wrote GulpJS automation workflow. At the same time, I synchronized the
web project folder to GitLab and recorded the coding documentation. Before joining CRC, I also worked as a
front-end developer and a tester in the UF Association for Information System lab for the .NET EC2 based
voting web application project. For this project, I used the Bootstrap framework to do the CSS improvement for
mobile devices. In addition, I was part of the technical support team to help the AIS members solve login
problems and control the voting flow during the election.
I believe that a combination of my current skills, work experience and professional attitude all make me a
strong contender for this job.
I would be glad if we could have a personal interview and share with you some of my accomplishments in
detail. I’ll look forward to hear from you.
Best Regards,
Songbo Wu

To whom it may concern:
I would like to recommend Songbo Adrian Wu as a candidate for a position in Software
Engineering/Development with your organization. Songbo worked with me at SumTotal Systems as a
.NET/web developer working on UI and service-level components from 2015-2016.
Songbo shows great collaborative abilities working directly with other developers and members of the
QA team to ensure that the requirements for new features were fully functional, and to certify that any
defects assigned to him were fixed on schedule. He would endeavor to make sure that the behavior of
the user interface was perfect even before submitting the code for QA verification. He is also a strong,
independent worker, and strives to work ahead of schedule when possible to benefit the team as a

To work on our most recent project, Songbo quickly learned a new framework and coding language and
developed several pages for navigation and provided the client-side validation as well as back-end
functionality. He has a good understanding of the “big picture” for web applications and development
concepts, and he enjoys putting his knowledge to the test, constantly exploring new code and new
