INTRODUCTION

Song Set Three gives another new set of songs to be explored through

movement and games. The most significant addition to Song Set 3 is the use

of the semitone and singing songs in a minor key. The range of pitches found

within 1 song is bigger but there are still only up to 5 different pitches per

song.

Sticks & Blobs is a series of books designed to incrementally teach children

to “musically” read notation. The aim is to equip them to be able to sight

sing which gives them the skill of being able to read music and hear what it

will sound like in their heads before playing it on an instrument. The quality

of instrumental playing is transformed using this concept. The table below

gives a rough guideline of which books can be used for each year group.

Sticks & Blobs Specifics S&B Sp 1: Spaces, Lines & The 5 Line Stave
