SOME or ANY
• Some is used for countable (plurals) and uncountable nouns:
Countable nouns: They have singular and plural forms:apple-applesorange- oranges• Some is used when talking of more than one
object:• Examples: I have some apples in the
refrigerator.
Uncountable nouns
• They only have singular form and need a measure unit to be counted (kilos, grams, litre, glasses, cups, etc.)
Examples:
1. Buy some sugar at the supermarket.
2. I need 2 cups of sugar to make the cake.
3. I drink one glass of water every day in the morning.
4. We bought some bread for breakfast
Positive,Negative and Questions
• We usually use any in negative sentences and questions.
• E.g.: Are there any messages for me? No, there aren´t any.
• We usually use some in affirmative sentences.
• E.g.: There are some pens in the bag.

Examples
A: Is there any flour in the fridge?
B: No, there isn´t any, but there is
some in the pantry.
• There aren’t any pears but
there are some bananas.
