Munnar is a beautiful hill station in the state of Kerala and is one of the most run­after holiday destinations in India. It is a historic city and was once, the summer resort of the British. Today, the city is a major centre of administration, business, and education. Munnar tourism is perhaps the most significant contributor to city's revenue. A huge part of the city's population is wholly dependent on tourism industry only.

• Echo Point ­ It is located at a distance of 15 km from the centre of the city. The place is an incredibly beautiful location that houses a small lake, perfectly set amidst of mighty hills. 

The young bloods are the ones who get most attracted to Echo Point. Their favorite activity in the place is to make a loud call from a spot and then listen to the echo.

• Kundala Lake ­ It is one of the prime attractions in the city. People head to the place in order to explore the place in a pedal boat. The place houses a calm­beautiful lake which is surrounded by lush jungle. Rowing in the middle of the lake and viewing the scenic jungles and hills, is simply an awesome experience.

• Mattupetti Indo­Swiss Farm ­ The farm was established in year 1961 and is also known as Mattupetti, which means cattle village. The place is called so because before the place became a major Indo­Swiss dairy farm, it was a place where the Tamil migrants reared their cattle. Today the farm is managed by Kerala Livestock Development Board, and is one of its kind farm, as it houses more than 100 varieties of cattle. 

• Floriculture Centre ­ Visiting this place is one of the most popular activity that simply tops the list of things to do in Munnar. It is a must visit place as it is an extremely beautiful garden containing a huge variety of flowers and foliage/herbal plants. Set against the scenic backdrop of the picturesque Tea plantation, the place is best for taking some memories with you in the form of photos.

• Salim Ali (Thattekkad) Bird Sanctuary ­ The sanctuary is located on the outskirts of the city and around 20 km from Kothamangalam. It is a popular tourist spot and is home to a large variety of birds, including: Malabar Gray Hornbills, Woodpeckers, Parakeets, Ceylon Frogmouths, and Rose­billed Rollers. Besides this, there are certain private travel companies offering boat cruise between Boothathankettu and Thattekkad.

• Waterfalls near Rajmala ­ The place is simply a paradise, with ethereal waterfalls creating magnificent views. It is a perfect spot for nature lovers and people who love photography.
