SOME OF OUR STRENGTHS

Size and Diversity Our program is aliated with a wide variety of health care organizaƟons, spanning an array of health care enƟty types. While residents are hosted by a specic organizaƟon, program-wide learning acƟviƟes allow residents to gain an appreciaƟon of the similariƟes and dierences of pharmacy pracƟce across these organizaƟons. Preceptors Our preceptors are excellent teachers and mentors, many of whom are graduates of this residency pro- gram. They have a tremendous amount of experi- ence not only clinically, but in pracƟce development and pharmacy services management. Many of our preceptors are recognized by peers locally and na- Ɵonally as leaders in their areas of pracƟce exper Ɵse. Community-Campus Partnerships Our program is truly based on community-campus partnerships. Centralized program administraƟon frees up preceptors to do what they do best—prac- Ɵce and teach. Program-wide learning experiences enhance the learning that can be gained at a single organizaƟon. Residents have access to College of Pharmacy faculty with experience and experƟse that augments that held by preceptors. Progressive PracƟce Environment We are pleased to host a program in a state where pharmacy pracƟce is recognized as leading the way naƟonally. The University of Minnesota is ranked 2nd in College of Pharmacy rankings. Minnesota’s State Medicaid program has been recognized for its innovaƟve MTM payment program. Our pharmacy pracƟce act has long allowed the exibility of collaboraƟve pracƟce agreements. In short, when non-Minnesota residents join us, one of their fre- quent comments is, “Pharmacy pracƟce is dierent here.” We are proud of the fact that this is always meant as a compliment! Collegiality We pride ourselves on supporƟng a culture that facilitates collegiality between residents, preceptors and program administrators. We learn together and play together. We anƟcipate that the professional and personal relaƟonships that you develop over the course of your program will stay with you for the balance of your career. There are several elements to our program that make us unique and distinguish the educational experience residents gain within our program. These are just a few of our program’s strengths. www.pharmacy.umn.edu/residency Some of Our Strengths SOME OF OUR STRENGTHS PREPARING PHARMACY PRACTITIONERS FOR PA TIENT -CENTERED PRACTICE
