SOME NOTES ON RIGS - THE JONNY MAC RIG The Jon Mac Rig or Uni-Rig as it is also known is a very simple and hugely effective rig to use with Pop-Ups. It is a simple to tie rig and uses very few components but is devastating, and can be fished with confidence in most situations. You will need the following components to construct this rig 1- A 10 inch hook length of coated braid. I use the new Korda N-Trap in 15lb 2 - A size 8 Korda Choddy Hook (These are Sticky Sharp!) 3 - A Thinking Anglers Hook Ring Swivel 4- A small Korda sinker 5 - Some Thinking Anglers Rig Putty (Well Sticky 7 Heavy) 6 - A length of Bait Floss Instructions Firstly form a loop in one end of the N-Trap and tie with an overhand knot this loop should be about 1.5 to 2 inches long. Push the loop up through the eye of the hook. Slide on the Hook Ring Swivel and pass the hook through the loop to form the D. Pull a little coating from the N-Trap below the knot to form a hinge. Slide on a Korda Sinker and push this upto the hinge. Now flatten out a piece of Rig Putty and mould it to the sinker. Attach your Pop-Up to the ring swivel by threading the bait floss through your Pop-Up tie a couple of overhand knots trim. Now blob the ends so your bait is secured. Now balance the rig so it slowly sinks by removing bits of the putty. Tie an overhand loop in the other end of about two inches. This loop is threaded through your swivel to attach it. The double loop also adds a little stiffness to the rig and helps eliminate tangles! Cork Ball Pop-Up’s When using Odyssey XXX cork ball pops I tend to feed mine a little Feedstim XP every week and I mean a little. I then shake the tub and the liquid is is ab- sorbed into the baits. When all the liquid is absorbed I then add a little Salmon Oil. I repeat this process a couple of times. The result is a glossy and very nice smelling Carp Catching Bait!

SOME NOTES ON RIGS - THE JONNY MAC RIG

The Jon Mac Rig or Uni-Rig as it is also known is a very simple and hugely effective rig to use with Pop-Ups.

It is a simple to tie rig and uses very few components but is devastating, and can be fished with confidence in most situations.

You will need the following components to construct this rig

1- A 10 inch hook length of coated braid. I use the new Korda N-Trap in 15lb

2 - A size 8 Korda Choddy Hook (These are Sticky Sharp!)

3 - A Thinking Anglers Hook Ring Swivel

4- A small Korda sinker

5 - Some Thinking Anglers Rig Putty (Well Sticky 7 Heavy)

6 - A length of Bait Floss

Instructions

Firstly form a loop in one end of the N-Trap and tie with an overhand knot

this loop should be about 1.5 to 2 inches long.

Push the loop up through the eye of the hook. Slide on the Hook Ring

Swivel and pass the hook through the loop to form the D.

Pull a little coating from the N-Trap below the knot to form a hinge.

Slide on a Korda Sinker and push this upto the hinge.

Now flatten out a piece of Rig Putty and mould it to the sinker.

Attach your Pop-Up to the ring swivel by threading the bait floss through

your Pop-Up tie a couple of overhand knots trim.

Now blob the ends so your bait is secured.

Now balance the rig so it slowly sinks by removing bits of the putty.

Tie an overhand loop in the other end of about two inches.

This loop is threaded through your swivel to attach it. The double loop also adds a little stiffness to the rig

and helps eliminate tangles!
