SOMAPY 1 ENCOURAGE CURIOSITY AND EXPLORATION SOMAPY Season Finale!! At our final week of SOMAPY camp this year our campers were tested one final time in our “Legend of the Hidden Temple” games. The secret color wars challenges were no match for our campers. The entire camp solved the mystery of the hidden temple by work- ing together and showing our 4 core values. On Thursday, SO- MAPY visited Seven Presidents beach. Our campers soaked in the sun by having lots of fun. As we all know our very own camp director Coach Dave Berry is retiring after 29 years at SOMAPY Camp. We gave him one final special day at camp. All campers came to camp dressed as Coach Dave. Throughout the day campers played all their favorite games from the summer including a Dance Party where campers enjoyed ice cream and won prizes to take home! All good things come to an end but Stay Tuned for what’s in store for our camp next year! We will be back better than ever! WHAT’S NEXT Our overall theme this summer was SOMAPY’s TV Takeover. Our camp leaders really enjoyed plan- ning for all the exciting theme weeks this year. Most importantly we loved watching our campers build spirit, self confidence, make new camp bud- dies, and have tons of fun. Your child's membership is good at the Y for more than just camp. Throughout the school year we offer Enrichment and Sport classes. Coach Shaun, Coach Fred, Ms.Gail, Sensei Carmen, and Ms.Zaneeyah would love to continue all the fun from this summer at the Y this Fall. Parents can also sign up for the various adult programs we offer. Contact our new youth sports directors Jason Kel- ley and Coach Shaun or the Welcome Center if you have any more questions. Thank you so much for entrusting your child with us this summer and hope that they had a great time full of many lasting memo- ries. Please be sure to respond to our survey so that we can make next summer even better. Please check our Lost and Found by 8/31. Unclaimed items will be cleaned and donated.
