Somalia is a country in the horn of Africa with close to 10 million people. The

majority lives in the capital city, Mogadishu. Islam is the official religion.

Somalia suffers from the effects of a civil war which started in 1991 and which has caused deep instability throughout the country and in the lives of

its people.
