Walls painted in graffiti, restrooms in serious disrepair,

and roaches lurking in the cracks – hardly the way

you’d imagine describing any school in America.

Yet that’s what the students of Enterprise Middle School

in Compton, California, faced every day. It’s no wonder

the students dubbed their school “Enter-prison.”

Today, students are holding their heads a little higher thanks

to the efforts of two very special classmates who nominated

Enterprise Middle for a makeover from a new NBC reality

television show called “School Pride.” Of the hundreds that

were nominated, Enterprise Middle School was one of only

seven schools selected to receive a makeover.

of new books.
