Migration to IP head-end

The Newtec AZ100 modulators can be equipped with a TSoIP interface in addition to ASI connectivity. This allows Head-End Solutions to be built that are IP based, avoiding some of the costs related to ASI multiplexing and switching, in addition to lowering operational activities and increasing flexibility.

Boosting DTH by Implementing Newtec’s Equalink

Newtec’s Equalink solution allows DTH operators to either save money on space capacity, lower programming cost or simply increase the service offering. Typically a 10 per cent increase in throughput can be established without changing the other system parameters (or set-top boxes), making it possible to upgrade some SD programs to HD or add content. Newtec’s Equalink specifically predistorts the signal to match the unique transponder(s) used for the DTH service.In addition more users can be reached on the edges of the satellite footprint, increasing subscriptions and revenue from untapped markets.
