1. IntroductionKylone is intended to use in closed areas such as university campuses, hospitals, hotels, residences, apartments or any kind of premises.

Although it can stream to L3 networks or to internet, Kylone is intended to provide services to local networks and it is not intended to use on any kind of subscription based IPTV services.

2. Arguments2.1.Default bandwidth for a single stream (assumptions)

3. Limitations3.1. Streaming Server

Basically there is no any limitation on any kind of acquisition side. Moi-V can acquire hundreds of SD/HD/4K channel data from DVB cards depending on number of tuner inputs it has and number of transponders configured in MicroCMS.

Kylone streaming server supports client initiated traffic through HLS playlists only. Streaming (output) is limited to total bandwidth of all network interfaces server have. If there is enough bandwidth then the only limitation will be the CPU utilisation. A single server can stream an MP2-TS HD channel up to 2.000 concurrent end-points with 16 core CPUs and 16 GB memory with 2x10GbE network interfaces.

Moi-V has two 1GbE interfaces and can provide ~2Gbps throughput utilising 802.3ad link aggregation. Following is the list of maximum values for Moi-V for different streaming conditions;

• MP4-TS SD (item 2.2.1) : more than 1000 concurrent endpoints• MP4-TS HD (item 2.2.1) : up to 500 concurrent endpoints• MP2-TS SD (item 2.2.2) : up to 500 concurrent endpoints.• MP2-TS HD (item 2,2,2) : up to 250 concurrent endpoints.

3. df3.2. Set Top Box: TBS3700

STBs shipped by TBS has it’s own firmware specialised for it’s purpose and it supports almost all encoding formats to play streams utilising hardware acceleration. This will provide real live TV experience while playing HD streams at 50fps and 4K streams at 25fps.

WiFi feature on STB hardware can be configured as “Wireless Access Point” to provide WiFi service in the room for guests. Packets coming from guest devices are isolated and sent to network by using different VLAN IDs. There should be a VLAN aware switch at the backbone to separate guest traffic. Guest traffic can be controlled by any Hotspot system organisation already have.

3.3. OEM STBs

The only way to use an existing STB from the market is using Kylone Mobile application for Android on it. Please refer to “Mobile Applications” section to see limitations.

There will be no any WiFi feature provided by Kylone on this kind of STBs.

3.4. Mobile Applications

Kylone Mobile supports iOS and Android platforms. On those platforms native multimedia backends are utilised to get benefit from hardware acceleration whenever possible. This means, streams should be compatible for mobile platform intended to use (transcoding may needed).

3.5. Content Management System

There is no any limitation on Kylone MicroCMS and related configurations. Please refer following items for limitations;

There is a free demo license for product evaluations. This will limit total number of channels to 20, number of VOD content to 5 and number of end-points to 5 only.
