Experts in Solar Panel Installations
Why InvestIn Solar PV?Secure your energy costs for the next 25 years!
In order to meet strict carbon reduction targets the Government has introduced extremely attractive incentives for installing Solar PV.
The Benefits
> Solar PV installations offer a 10% return on investment
> Protect your business from rising energy costs
> Save on operational costs
> Lower your carbon emissions
> Demonstrate to customers you are taking measures to help the environment
> Become more energy-efficient
> Benefit from a 20 year guaranteed second income from the Feed-in Tariff
Investment Benefits - Investing in Solar Photovoltaic (PV) panels offers an exceptional return on investment - around 10% as opposed to the average ISA which pays 2-3%. Payments made to Solar PV system owners through the Government backed Feed-in Tariff scheme are the main reason behind this. Financial rewards from the Feed-in Tariff mean an average payback period on initial investment of between 6 - 8 years. Furthermore the Feed-in Tariff is tax free, indexed linked and guaranteed by the government for the next 20 years.
Environmental Benefits - Solar panels do not produce harmful greenhouse gas emissions, unlike fossil fuels which are the main source of global warming. Installing Solar PV can reduce your own carbon footprint by up to 1200Kg per year.

The Feed-in Tariff
In order to meet its targets set for the reduction of CO2 emissions the Government introduced the Feed-in Tariff scheme in April 2010. The scheme is ‘self funding’ as all UK electricity suppliers have been instructed to add 1p per unit to customers in the UK. This extra money is then put into a fund which is used to bank roll the scheme.
The Feed-in Tariff offers 3 separate financial benefits:
1. The Generation TariffA set payment of 15.44p for every kilowatt-hour (KWH) of electricity your PV panels generate
2. The Export TariffA set payment of 4.5p for every kilowatt-hour (kWh) of surplus electricity not used onsite and exported to the national grid
3. Lower Energy BillsThere will be a significant reduction on your standard electricity bill from using the free energy your Solar PV panels generate
Properties are required to produce an Energy Performance Certificate rating of ‘D’ or above to qualify for the full Feed-in Tariff rates. It is estimated that around half of all properties are already eligible for a ‘D’ rating. Solar PV installations must also be carried out by a MCS accredited installer to be eligible for the Feed-in Tariff.
Financial rewards from the Feed-in Tariff mean an average payback period on initial investment of between 6 - 8 years. Furthermore the Feed-in Tariff is tax free, indexed linked, guaranteed by the government for the next 20 years and offers a 10% return on investment.

How Does Solar PV
Work?
When extra power is required it is imported from the
national grid in the normal way
5
Surplus electricity is sold to the national grid, earning
the owner money
4The generated power
is then used around theworkplace to power electrical appliances

APPROVED INSTALLER
MCS
Case Study
Renewable Resources (Energy Solutions) Ltd has successfully completed the installation of roof-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) panels at 169 Sainsbury’s stores across the South of England, producing a total of 16 Megawatts (MW) of power for the supermarket chain. The installation became a significant element of Sainsbury’s 20 by 20 Sustainability Plan, which aims to reduce carbon (CO2) emissions, provide a sustainable solution for long-term energy security and protect from future rises in energy costs.
“This project secured Renewable Resources’ position as the largest UK solar PV installer for commercial rooftops in 2012, while also demonstrating our ability to work on a tight schedule,” said Paul Gribben, Chief Executive, Renewable Resources. “The main challenge was to meet strict Feed-In Tariff deadlines. Our committed team of expert engineers and strong partnerships with key roofing membrane and solar PV panel suppliers allowed us to install a typical 50 kW system in less than three days – just half of the market average time... and it was fantastic to have our efforts rewarded by winning the ‘Largest Installation’ at the Solar UK Industry Awards 2012.”
Renewable Resources completed the 16 MW Solar PV installations at select Sainsbury’s stores in South East and South West England, consisting of 50 and 250 kilowatt peak systems. Across these 169 stores, the resulting 16 MW of solar energy generated is equivalent to powering over 4,000 homes or offsetting an average of 6,800 tonnes of CO2 per annum. Extensive knowledge of commercial roofing systems and solar power combined with reliable and high-quality technologies allowed Renewable Resources to complete the installation without alterations to construction or any disruption to the stores’ operation.

40kW Solar PV system installed onto refrigerated warehouse
3.68 kW Solar PV system home installation
Warehouse bills reduced from £1500 to around £200 per month
Home energy bills more than halved
On target to pay back installation costs in around 6 - 8 years
Ivan Wood& Sons
Ivan WoodManaging Director
I chose Renewable Resources as I felt I could trust them and appreciated that they didn’t have a high pressure sales team. I was delighted with all aspects of the service from the surveyor, the installation team to the back office. Having their own in-house design team I felt reassured my system would be designed to the highest standards. I noticed the savings immediately - my warehouse bills have dramatically decreased and my house bills have more than halved. I would highly recommend Renewable Resources to anyone thinking about investing in renewable energy.
Ivan Wood & Sons are wholesale fruit and potato merchants with a large refrigerated warehouse. Bills were a big concern to Ivan so he decided to look into investing in renewable energy to secure his future energy costs.
Ivan installed solar panels on both his house and his warehouse. The panels on his warehouse have produced around 35,000kW of renewable energy in a year, which is more than was calculated so his system is actually over producing. In addition to dramatically decreased warehouse bills, Ivan’s house bills have more than halved.

Cumbrae Primary School Head Teacher
Cumbrae Primary School is on the small island of Millport. The school is a member of the eco-schools initiative and decided to invest in renewable energy in order to reduce their energy bills and safeguard the future energy costs.
“ ”
The school underwent a major refurbishment and installing solar panels was the first step. Investing in renewable energy meant they not only reduced their electricity bills and safeguarded themselves from future rises in energy costs, but they were also able to use the panels as a tool to help teach pupils about solar power. The school has now set up an eco-committee to engage pupils with renewable energy and help them understand how their solar panels are helping create an environmentally friendly future for our planet.
16 Panel Solar PV Installation
We are over the moon with the panels, not only are we reducing our energy costs and helping the environment but we can use them to teach our pupils. The panels are effortless; they do not need any upkeep at all. Renewable Resources were great, the installation team were fantastic. They were also very respectful of being in a school and working near children. We would highly recommend them.
On target to pay back initial installation costs in around 6 - 8 years
Panels also used as educational tool to help engage pupils in renewable energy
