Solar PV in India Solar PV sector is on fast stir growth in India and around the world due to various advantages on it. The PV industry growth is on rapid phase from 9 MWp grid connected in 2009 to the 1045 MWp at present. PV industry contributes majority of the power generation through solar in the world due to the factors of low cost, proven technology and the faster payback compared to CSP. PV sector has its own advantage of easy construction and also a sudden decrease in the prices of solar panels around the world has decreased the solar PV power production in India. In India the solar insolation is good and also sunny days of receiving the solar energy is more, hence the gap of power availability will reduced by installing the indigenous systems in work places and in living areas. PV as its grid connected has a major advantage of easy scaling up power plants and also of backup of power through batteries to some extent. Power generation through power plants on an increasing note due to the interest of people investing in Solar PV.
