Introduction to the iPhone AppThe iPhone FormBay App allows you to create STC assignment forms online, and access the forms on your iPhone. It also allows you to capture signatures and serials on site without any paperwork required.

The mobile installer app allows the installer to capture and upload information back to base such as serials, signatures, date & time, GPS co-ordinates and photo’s. The system then collates this data and creates the final STC assignment form complete with serials and signatures. Along with this comes medium resolution photos of installed system.

The administrator will create the form in FormBay and select the appropriate installer to the installation, this will then be available in the assigned installers mobile device. The installer will also have the option to printa hard copy of the STC form if needed. The system provides all the STC calculations and pricing automatically. We match our calculations to ORER

Once the form has been signed on the iPhone by the CEC installer, the CEC designer and the home owner, the information is then uploaded back to base where you can review and upload the Safety Certificate and home owners invoice before submitting through to the compliance centre.

The Mobile Installer NetworkThe Mobile Installer Network has been set up to manage and administer the installers who operate within the FormBay

network. Installers who want to use the mobile applications

such as the iPhone, iPad or android apps, will need to first register and activate as an installer under the ‘Mobile Installer Network’. The app is free to downloads from either the Apple app store or the Android marketplace.

This installer is then available for you to add under your FormBay account. To help ensure the

installer’s CEC number is not used fraudulently anywhere on our system we require the installer to first confirm that he works for you. We do this via SMS or E-mail activation, where he/she is sent a request for confirmation each time a FormBay client adds his profile.

This relates to issues experienced by ORER, where people have fraudulently used other CEC installer accreditation numbers for the illegal creation of STCs. We match our records with the official CEC installer list sent to us monthly. If the installer is not on the list then we cannot activate his account.

We are currently working on an application for other users who are involved in the installation process,such as warehouse, apprentice, and labour staff, allowing them to capture content without the sign off features. The CEC installer must always sign off on the install on site.

How does the iPhone App work?

The iPhone App works in conjunction with your FormBay web account. When a forms is createdon the website and assign to an installer, the form is then pushed to the installers iPhone. The installercan then take photos of the install, scan serials, and capture signatures. The installer then clicks complete and uploads back to your FormBay account. You are then able to see the signedSTC assignment form, the photos of the install, and the GPS plus timestamp data.The app is easy to use and designed to make the installers job easier. We have more features under development such as utilising Google maps to guide the installer to the job site.

How does the iPhone App work?

2. Capturing serials & taking photo’sThere are 3 main requirments you will need to capture, serials, photos and signatures.

For the serials when you click on the ‘serials’ button, the barcode scanner will automatically load.

Simply let the camera focus over the barcode and wait for either the ‘beep’ sound or for the words ‘captured’ to appear. If the scanner can not ready the barcode, simply click ‘done’ and you will see the option to add the serial in manually.

For the photos, it‘s simple, click on the photo type, snap the photo and move onto the next.There are a number of photo’s the app requires you to take before you can capture signatures:

- Front of the house- DC isolator - Panels installed on roof

There is also the option to take photos of documents you may have available to you when on site, such as:

- Signed Certificate of Compliance- Home Owners Invoice

3. Capturing signaturesOnce all the required photo’s are taken, then you will be able to capture the homeowners & the CEC installers signatures. Each signature have a declaration or writtenstatement that is required to be accepted before the signature can be taken.

Once accepted, the signature pad will then load, here the home owner simply signs with theirfinger or they can use a stylist pen. The CEC installer uses the same method.

4. Completing and uploading back to baseOnce you have captured all the completed information, a blue ‘Complete’ button will appear.Click on complete and the form will then begin to upload. Its important to leave the appopen while the upload is occuring. Over 3G this may take up to 2 minutes, and less over wifi.You can wait until you reach a place where you have wifi before uploading. If you have no coverage, simply wait until you return back into a area that has converage and open the app againand the form will start to upload

Your ‘Forms’ screenAfter you login with your username and password, you will be brought to your ‘Forms’ screen.Here you will find a list of all the installs/forms that have been assigned to you from head office.It’s important to remember the form is first created online and then assigned to you before it will appear on your ‘Forms’ list. To start a form, simply click on the install you’reworking on and the requirements for that form will then load.

How to download iPhone App?

Once registered, the FB Solar PV app will need to be downloaded. This is done via the online app store. To download the app simply click on the download and follow instructions accordingly.

Once downloaded, enter the User name and Password. These are the log in details entered when you registered.Once logged in, the installer will be able to view all the installation jobs to be done. Click on the arrow button to begin capturing serials, photographs and signatures.

EmailOnce the installer has received the e-mail, they will need to activate their account by clicking on ‘Activate Account’.This will take them to an account page where it states the account is activated. However for the account to be fully activated the installer will receive a call from FormBay to confirm the identification and then your account will be ready to use.

How to register as an iPhone Installer?

To register as an IPhone user, follow the link provided by your agent. Once the installer has entered all the required information in the registration form below, an email will be generated and sent to the e-mail id provided.

Here is an example the process of creating an STC application for upload to the REC Registry

Create your form onlineHere you can enter basic information about the install which we need to calculate the STCs value and to the STC assignment form.Typically you would enter the systems make and model, the rated power output, how many panels, the home owners details, the installation address and finally who will be installing the system. You do not need to enter in any other information such as serials as the installer will handle this when on site.

System integration can help here, where the information that is requiredto create a form is automatically imported into FormBay to create the form. This eliminates data entry, however the form only takes between 2-3 mins to fill out.

CEC installer captures & uploadsOnce the form has been assigned to the installer, he/she will thensee that form appear on their iphone as a new job. They then scan the serials, take photos of the install, capture the signatures, and then upload back-to-base.

( If the installer is not the designer, the assigned designer can sign off from their own iphone remotely.)

Compliance Centre checks dataOnce all 3 manditory documents have been uploaded on your side, the compliance center is then notified to go in and check the documents are compliant. We check items such as signatures, dates, standards & regulations, photos and GPS/timestamp data, to assess that the install did take place and was adequately signed off. Once approved the form is then uploaded to the REC Registry.

Upload missing documentsThe STC assignment form will arrive in your FormBay however other documents such as the certificate of compliance or the customer invoice will need to be scanned and uploaded for that form id. This is the final step before the compliance centre is notified to check the information. The installer can take photos of of these documentswithin the app, however they need to be sharp and legible.

FormBay upload to the REC RegistryOnce the compliance centre has approved the compliance information,we then upload the applications to REC Registry for approval by ORER.We then manage the audit process and monitor the status of the applicationthrough to when the STCs have been issued or failed.
