Solar energy heats up the air near the earth. The hot air become lighter and this rises up. This results in low pressure area. Cooler air flows into wind. Thus wind energy is due to solar energy. It is used for production of electricity & sailing of boats.

Solar energy causes water to evaporate from the water bodies the water vapour rises to form clouds and the clouds bring rain. The rain water flowing downhill possesses kinetic energy this can be used to generate electricity.

Plants need sunlight for photosynthesis which is used to prepare food.
