OBJECTIVE OF THE PROGRAMME

The main objective of this program is to enhance the knowledge of the

participants in the modern trends in Power System Analysis through simulation

techniques & control, is intended to benefit the faculty of Electrical Engineering

Department of engineering institutions and practicing engineers in power

sector.

The current scenario in the power sector has been undergoing continual

developments in generation, transmission and distribution. With the existing

voluminous size of network, together with the rapid growth in supply and de-

mand, the conventional approach has proved ineffective and this demands need

for advanced computational and planning methodologies. The other objectives

are as follows:

• To enable the design engineers to test the safety and integrity of their design

concepts.

• To allow the design engineers to create repository of proven design elements

that can be reused in future.

• This training provides an opportunity to the faculty members of engineering

colleges and practicing engineers to interact actively with the experts deal-

ing with recent advances and developments in power systems both from

industry and academia.

THE LECTURES WILL BE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS

• Computer aided power system simulation.

• Power system over voltages.

• Voltage improvement techniques.

• Power quality and harmonic analysis.

• Power system protection.

• New trends in Power System Protection.
