It is now e!ident that it has become the norm for children and teenagers to be abused. As a
student of going to a )rominent high school I ha!e heard of m( fellow school mates talk about
being scolded b( )arents which ha!e become a )o)ular to)ic to s)eak about.
I found this to)ic to be !er( interesting mainl( because of the fact that children in m(
surroundings are being abused b( )arents relati!es and e!en strangers which should not be
ha))ening.

In order to collect data a )rinted 9uestionnaire was used for the research. A 9uestionnaire has a
number of ad!antages:
It takes little time to be com)leted It guarantees total confidentialit( of the res)ondent
It is not time consuming and it has the con!enience of the )erson re9uired to fill out
he method f data collecting which was used in the research is that of a sur!e( and the
instrument used is a 9uestionnaire. he researcher used a sur!e( method of collection data
because the res)onses are gathered in a standard wa( so there are more obecti!es and it is
relati!el( eas( to collect dat. -ence res)ondents were not re9uired to include )ersonal data such
as their names and addresses.

ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION
Information showed that 64F of the res)ondents sa( that there are )arents who fre9uentl( abuse
their children. he cause of this can be stress u)on the )arents and if the child dis)la(s an
intolerable beha!ior the )arent gets !er( u)set and takes that anger out on the child. In the
communit( a lot of children has a social relationshi) with one another. he( fre9uentl( share
stories with one another and discussing situations> in *igure / (ou will see that twel!e of the
res)ondents which are 4#F hear the children in the communit( talking about their )arents
mistreating them. Parents should consider talking to their child before a))roaching them with the
intention of being scolded. 1rowing u) in a home children alwa(s do what the( see their )arents
doing sa( what the( hear their )arents sa(ing etc> *igure three shows what res)ondents think
about the incidence of children becoming an abuser as adults when the( are abused there was an
e9ual amount of res)ondents who both agreed and were not sure which is 4CF. As amaicans the
1o!ernment made it clear that the age of consent to ha!e se, is si,teen
