Fight all job cuts and redundancies! National action to stop the slaughter.

No to ANY attack on our pensions!

    No more pay freezes!

Not a penny more of UNISON money to be given to Labour councils attacking our members

    - break our ties with Labour; build a new trade union-based party.

Stop the witchhunt of socialist in UNISON! The tens of thousands of pounds wasted on this should be

used to help build the ght against the cuts.

UNISON NEC ELECTIONS 2011: A NEW LEADERSHIP NEEDED TO STOP THE JOBS SLAUGHTER!

UNISON members, along with all otherworkers in both public and privatesectors, are facing unprecedented

attacks from the Con Dem government,

local councils and employers. Nothing is

    safe in their hands.

These represent by far the greatest

    challenges facing the trade union

    movement for decades and UNISONs

leaders have a duty to respond boldly and

positively or stand aside for those who will.

Were told were all in this together! The

health worker witnessing the NHS being

    ideologically dismantled and the council

worker being laid off while bankers

continue to coin it in with increasingly

obscene bonuses, know this is a lie. We

are being made to pay for a crisis wedidnt cause but were not prepared to

    take it lying down.

UNISON needs a strategy to defeat ALL

    cuts, whoever proposes them. Labour

councils who pass on Tory cuts by slashing

jobs and services are part of the problem,

not the answer. Council workers being

sacked by Labour councils will be horried

that UNISON continues to pump 3 million

a year into the Labour Party on their

behalf. Not a penny more to New Labour!

And now, we are faced with further attacks

on our already low pensions. There is no

alternative than to resist! UNISON must

link up with all the other public sector

    unions and threaten massive industrial

action unless the plans are withdrawn.

No increases in contributions rates; no

lower benets; no ending of nal salary

    schemes. Simply bleating about how

unfair they are will cut no ice with themillionaires in the cabinet.

UNISON is a national union its timewe started to respond nationally.Members in areas across the UK have

shown a willingness to ght the attacks

but each branch is being left to ght

alone; there is no linking of the disputes.

    No worker contemplates strike action

without good reason. Many have already

realised they will only be able to protect

their jobs, pay, conditions and the

services they provide to the community ifthey strike now they want their union to

be leading them into struggle, not holding

    them back.

The majority of UNISONs current national

executive have either no intention of

leading a ghtback or dont know how to

develop a winnable strategy and organise.

We need a big inux of new blood

activists with a proven track record of

defending members and organising to win.

You can make a difference. Elect a

leadership that will ght to protect your jobs

    - vote for the candidates listed overleaf.

Now more than ever UNISON members need a ghting

leadership prepared to stand up to the Con Dem Government and

councils of all political colours when they attack our members.

    - Roger Bannister, UNISON NEC

I am standing as Black Members rep because we know that

black workers will be hit the hardest if the Con-Dems cuts agenda

continues. Already in my local council black female workers are

bearing the brunt of the cuts. But its not about sharing out the

misery equally with white male workers! The only way we can

defend ourselves and our community is to stop all cuts in jobs and

    services.

    - April Ashley, UNISON NEC
