description

Social Traders is a new social enterprise shortly to be incorporated as a CIC based in Cornwall, United Kingdom. Our web-based service is aimed at supporting the growing number of people managing social enterprises. We have two goals, firstly to help market the goods and services of social enterprises to those who wish to purchase from socially responsible suppliers. Secondly we are organising local networking events for people running social enterprises to exchange ideas about marketing and other key business issues. The focus of the website will be the Social Traders™ local supplier directory where anyone can browse the list of products, services, visitor attractions, venues for hire, leisure facilities, recycling businesses, cafés, retail outlets etc provided by the wide range of social enterprises. The website will also carry news, features and events of interest to social traders. We also promote a gift and household range of ethical products from around the world including Fairtrade. We are offering all social enterprises a free directory listing as part of our service and hope you recognise the benefits of your organisation becoming listed and being part of a growing social enterprise network. We will be launching the website in June 2009 and developing the directory along with on-line resources over the coming months.
