FUTURE OF SOCIAL MEDIA IN 2020

In 2020, social media will be far more pervasive, interlinked, and location-aware than they are now. social media will be incorporated into much of our daily lives – mainly due to the growing popularity of smart phone devices, but even those will be different from what they are now.

Page 13: Social media project

FUTURE OF SOCIAL NETWORKING IN 2020:  social networking sites will most likely

begin to request or require access to your mobile phone number, contact list, location (GPS), and personal schedules. Some are already an option on most social networking sites, but they may all be required for new tasks and applications of social networking.

With more information shared, personal identity grows. However, with so many networks and applications, the number of aspects of your identity grows as well, which will be overwhelming.

Page 14: Social media project

FUTURE OF FRIENDS IN 2020:

The majority of the people surveyed said the Internet allows people to create and grow bigger social networks than they had been able to have in pre-Internet days. They said they like the advantages offered by the easy sharing of personal details in a one-to-many form that they can control.

"The internet has actually helped with human interaction by providing a wider range of ways to communicate such as Twitter and Facebook. These allow some interactions that are better not done face-to-face.

some participants said technology will continue to change how we live our lives at home and at work, and that "virtual friends" in more developed social networks will become more common in the future.

Social media Sites like Facebook and twitter are most popular. In Facebook you can build status by adding friends updating status. If you are active in and you give and receive comment then you have good social status. Similarly in Twitter you can tweet your views and you can follow peoples and if peoples follows and replies to you tweet then its shows you social status . Similarly other social networking sites have different way to maintain social status .

Page 47: Social media project

REASON FOR BUILDING STATUS

Status shows your position in the society how popular you are or how good you in society. Similarly this status used in social sites and person popular in this sites does not mean he is popular to in real world. Some people who are nobody in this real world they want to be popular or want to be something they can’t be in real life used these site and maintain there status by making attractive profiles they can be popular and can satisfy by this.

Page 48: Social media project

CONCLUSION

And Through this status we can meet new friend and can get more knowledge and this is why status building is important.

Page 50: Social media project

SECURITY

Social media is now used tremendonsly in recent years and this will raise some question about its security. Social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn increasingly are being used by enterprises to engage with customers, build their brands and communicate information to the rest of the world. But social media for enterprises isn't all about "liking," "friending," "up-voting" or "digging." For organizations, there are real risks to using social media, ranging from damaging the brand to exposing proprietary information to inviting concerns regrading this media ..

Page 51: Social media project

SECURITY ISSUES IN SOCIAL MEDIA

The use of Social Media increases day by day as it is before. It is now popular because of advancement in technology And due to this advancement there are many security concerns are raised. For eg. threats like theft your id or your personal information and creating new fake id for miss appropriate uses . So there are many security concerns over social media.

Page 52: Social media project

REASON FOR SECURITY

First of all People are more willing to share personal information about themselves online via Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare and Myspace without thinking of there theft of there personal information.

Secondly Social media platforms encourage a dangerous level of assumed trust. From there it's a short step to telling your new friend about your company's secret project. Which your new friend really might be able to help with if you would only give him a password to gain access to a protected file on your corporate network and many more examples for need of security.

Page 53: Social media project

THREATS IN SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES

Sometimes hackers go right to the source, injecting malicious code into a social networking site, including inside advertisements and via third-party apps. On Twitter, shortened URLs (popular due to the 140-character tweet limit) can be used to trick users into visiting malicious sites that can extract personal (and corporate) information if accessed through a work computer. Twitter is especially vulnerable to this method because it's easy to retweet a post so that it eventually could be seen by hundreds of thousands of people.

Page 54: Social media project

STEPS FOR SECURITY FROM ONLINE THREATS

We can Avoid security concerns by taking certain steps. Think about controlling the information you post not just for the sake of reducing your chance of being “stalker bait,” but also to make sure your character won’t be damaged. Although these social networks should provide a fun atmosphere where you don’t have to meticulously analyze what to say and what not to say, it’s still a public place in a sense. It’s important to note that you should only post what you would want others too see. Perhaps the company you’re working for or the school or club you’re affiliated with might deem that mobile upload of you belligerently drunk as inappropriate.

Page 55: Social media project

STEPS TAKEN BY NETWORKING SITES FOR SECURITY OF USER

There are certain steps taken by Networking Sites which help to increase security among users. For eg. This video shows how we can use privacy policy in facebook http://youtu.be/RZAFkL3YQdI and similarly other social networking sites used this types of policies.

Page 56: Social media project

CONCLUSION

In the end I would like to give a important bit of advice is to trust your uncertainties. If you feel threatened by someone or uncomfortable because of something online, report it to the social networking site or if you feel particularly in danger, contact the police. You could prevent someone else from becoming a victim. So, if you’re a social media user, spread the word. And that, as we all know, should be very easy to do.

IDENTITY ISSUES

An online identity, internet identity, or internet persona is a social identity that an Internet user establishes in online communities and websites. Although some people prefer to use their real names online, some internet users prefer to be anonymous which reveal varying amounts of personally identifiable information.

Page 59: Social media project

IDENTITY IN MEDIAS

The social web, i.e. the usage of the web to support the social process, represents a space in which people have the possibility to express and expose their identity in a social context. For instance people define explicitly their identity by creating user profiles in social network services such as Facebook or LinkedIn or in online dating services. In some online contexts, including Internet forums, MUDs, instant messaging and massively multiplayer online games, users can represent themselves visually by choosing an avatar, an icon-sized graphic image.

Page 60: Social media project

LESS RELIABILITY ON SOCIAL IDENTITY

The identities that people define in the social web are not necessarily reliable. For example studies have shown that people lie in online dating services. In the case of social network services such as Facebook, companies are even proposing to sell 'friends' as a way to increase a user's visibility, calling into question even more the reliability of a person's 'social identity

Page 61: Social media project

FAKE IDENTITIES

The Fake identities or we can say that Mask Identities. These both are same because individual interacts in a social online sphere they portray a mask of their identity. He or she can give wrong details like about the age, gender, address, username and so forth and the main reason behind is they want to be like them who they potrating  if a person chooses to act like a rock star on line, this metaphor reveals an interest in rock music

Page 62: Social media project

POSITIVITY OF IDENTITY

A commonly discussed positive aspect of virtual idnetity is that people can now present themselves without fear of persecution, whether it is personality traits, behaviors that they are curious about, or the announcement of a real world identity component that has never before been announced A prime example of these opportunities is the establishment of many communities welcoming gay and lesbian teens who are dealing with their sexuality. These communities allow teens to share their experiences with one another and older gay and lesbian people, and may they provide a community that is both non-threatening and non-judgmental.

Page 63: Social media project

CONCERNS OVER IDENTITY

The main concerns concerns regarding identity revolve around the areas of misrepresentation and the contrasting effects of on and offline existence. Sexuality and sexual behaviour online provide some of the most controversial debate with many concerned about the predatory nature of some users. This is particularly in reference to concerns about child pornography and the ability of pedophiles to obscure their identity.

Page 64: Social media project

CONCLUSION

Identity has major role in social media because media can’t be worked without creating something which identifies you therefore identity are created in social media. Its upon who we use this identity on ourselves whether we portrait our true nature or we want to be fake person.

Page 66: Social media project
