How does my magazine represent particular social

groups?

Page 2: Social groups

I think that my magazine could be slightly stereotypical in a way that I have useda young, classy, glamorous model. She is obviously younger than the models onthe existing magazines, but all the women on them are classy and glamorous too. It’s also stereotypical because I used a female model and not a male. As Iresearched existing magazines I only found one cover on Google that contained amale model, and he was older yet still quite classy. All the rest contained young, female, and beautiful models. I think by using the model that I did, it representedthe idea that it’s not just older people that are fans of classical music, it can beanyone, any age and any gender.I think that if I had have used a male model on the cover, it wouldn’t look as muchlike a classical magazine, unless that model was wearing a suit and tie andgenerally looked classy, which again, makes it stereotypical to the fact that havinga female model made it obvious that it was a classical cover. I think mostaudiences would expect a female model as that’s what usually on the covers of thecurrent selling magazines. I think the fonts that I used also represent my modelquite well. The fact that she’s classy and glamorous links with the font because it’ssophisticated. If my target audience saw a magazine with a classy model and abubble font then nobody would buy it. It represents the fact that it is high classmusic, it is different to what people normally go for, and it does look different tosay pop or rock covers do.
