Student Survey Administrations

(2988 students, 65%)• A survey administered to high & middle school students (8th grade only) throughout

the State of Illinois

• The IYS is a self-report survey administered in secondary school settings and is designed to gather information about a variety of health and social indicators including substance use patterns and attitudes of Illinois youth.

• Administered to students on a bi-annual basis for the last 10 years

• Areas of Focus: Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drug Use; Beliefs about Drug Use; Health & Nutritional Behaviors; Feelings about School; and Family Support

Panorama Survey (5166 students, 89%)• Selected as one of four Collaborative for Academic, Social & Emotional

Learning (CASEL) recommended tools • A research-based survey tool schools and districts use to measure

students’, teachers’, and families’ perceptions of SEL along with providing educators with actionable strategies to build their students’ SEL skills

• Administered to students in grades 3-11 in May 2018

• Areas of Focus: Self-Management; Social Awareness; Learning Strategies; Self-Efficacy; Growth Mindset, Grit, and Emotional Regulation
