Im online even during
class. Im supposed to
be taking notes but
instead Im commentingon stuff and uploading
pictures.
Theres more life
happening online than
offline. If you are not
online, you arecompletely out of the
loop--you dont have a
life, you dont really
exist.

"Thank you for caring enough to give us your feedback about
the recent 'Re-civilized' NIVEA FOR MEN ad. This ad was
inappropriate and offensive. It was never our intention to
offend anyone, and for this we are deeply sorry. This ad will
never be used again. Diversity and equal opportunity are
crucial values of our company."
In a longer statement Beiersdorf, Nivea's parent company,
said, "Beiersdorf, as a company, represents diversity, tolerance
and equal opportunity. Direct and indirect discriminationmust be ruled out in all decisions and in all areas of the
company."

Bears Are in the Room
FindingAdults are less likely to cheat and more likely to engage in pro-social
behaviors when reminders of children, such as teddy bears and crayons, are
present.
we found that when subjects were near toys or engaged in activities like
watching cartoons, the number of cheaters dropped almost 20%.
Our hypothesis focuses on the idea of purity. Child-related cues mightunconsciously activate notions of goodness and drive us to get to a pure state
and not want to pollute it.
Neuroscience has shown that oxytocin is released when people are exposed
to kids, and oxytocin is associated with pro-social behavior.

One suggestion is to put day-care facilities on corporate
campuses. Not only would it make parents more relaxed
about their kids, but it might also have a positive influence on
everyones behavior. It could lead to a more ethical climate.
perhaps pictures of children in cubicles would encourage
people to act better.

Free Apps Disrupting The Market

including Kik and Whatsapp messenger.

whole new generation will be used to messaging eachother more or less for free.

Although the new messaging apps are all
brilliant and mostly free they exist on different
platforms and there is some serious
fragmentation happening.

Change Will Take 3 Years
The notion of paying for SMS will seem completely
alien in about 3 years time but it is important to
think about all the people who dont even have
smart phones yet and a certain percentage of thepopulation are more than happy with the SMS
solution that they currently have.
it will take one player to unify the whole experience.
The are very strong economic reasons for a free app
to succeed and its very much a question of when
and not if at this stage.

Britain to fall under new Bribery Act
The Indian companies which have business
relations with Britain, raise finance or have
subsidiaries there, will soon find themselves
prosecutable under the new British Bribery
Act which came into effect on July 1 in place
of the old Victorian law.
"Large number of Indian firms will get affected
by the new British Bribery Act. Promotional

A firm headquartered in India will find itself
answerable to the British Serious Frauds Office
(SFO) even if any of its arms in any other
country had indulged in bribery or any corrupt
practices, and if this resulted in loss of
business to British companies or interests.
