We believe that technology cannot help on its own. Technology is just the means and the solution is always a Human – Centric - Approach. Many different organizations, associations, institutions and unions are fighting hard in the front line of world's problems, with common goals. The need of networking volunteers all over the world is big, while many independent solutions and platforms try to provide the framework over which volunteering work can be advertised and promoted, based on the use of Web 2.0, Social Networks, mobiles, e-mail, tweets, and so on. But if we think of what we already have: volunteers and volunteering organizations, businesses with corporate social responsibility, social networks, ubiquitous access, global coverage, new powerful tools such as OS applications, schools, universities, even the willingness of whole cities and nations to help we can really ask ourselves with skepticism "How can we merge all these in one united force, strong enough to make a difference?" We certainly do not need one more technological platform but rather an ecosystem, in which volunteerism can grow, can scale in participants and can be oriented towards self-sustaining the idea of volunteerism. And of course, make use of the existing technology to support it. In this course, we created S.A.V.E (Social Actions Volunteering Ecosystem), a tool for implementing this ecosystem. With S.A.V.E. users have their own place where they can access, propose and participate in volunteering events from Organizations, Companies or other Users. Users can interact each other with comments in the Event page or e-mails. Moreover, an ecosystem based on reputation built upon participation, success in organization of events and for the companies, corporate responsibility is used to power up S.A.V.E. Each user in the platform is awarded by the reputation he/she enjoys among all users, with this reputation growing with his/her contribution and able to be shared social media.
